The Wildpark “Le Cornelle” 🦓

Are you ready for a new post?!
Today I want to tell you about a very nice place to visit especially for families.
It is located in the province of Bergamo, in the Lombardy region of northern Italy, and
precisely in Valbrembo.
You can reach it very easily from the motorway taking the exit at Dalmine and then
continuing for about 8 km.
This is the Wildlife Park " Le Cornelle " !

Oggi voglio raccontarvi di un posto molto bello da visitare soprattutto per le famiglie.
Si trova in provincia di Bergamo, in Lombardia regione del nord Italia, e precisamente a
Valbrembo.
Ci si arriva molto tranquillamente dall’autostrada prendendo l’uscita a Dalmine e poi
proseguendo per circa 8 km.
Si tratta del Parco faunistico “ Le Cornelle “ !

The park was founded as a private zoo in 1981 by Ferruccio Benedetti, is a
private park that is supported thanks to the admission ticket paid by visitors
and whose purpose is to be able to introduce again the specimens born inside
the park in the wild nature.
Obviously allowing these animals to live inside the spaces dedicated to them
in the park, so the closest to the wild.
The fences are in fact very large and inside there are very few specimens,
sometimes only one, so as to have a large space for movement and their
needs.

Il parco è stato fondato come giardino zoologico privato nel 1981 da Ferruccio
Benedetti, è un parco privato che si sostiene grazie al biglietto di ingresso
pagato dai visitatori e il quale scopo è riuscire a introdurre nuovamente gli
esemplari nati all’interno del parco nella natura selvaggia.
Ovviamente consentendo a questi animali di poter vivere all’interno degli spazi
a loro dedicati nel parco, in modo il più vicino alla condizione selvatica.
I recinti infatti sono molto grandi e all’interno vi sono pochissimi esemplari, a
volte uno solo, in modo da avere un grande spazio per il movimento e i propri
bisogni.

The park is 125,000 square meters large, inside there are 120 species of animals including mammals, reptiles and birds. You walk around the park, there are various picnic areas where you can stop for a little break and eat but also restaurants and bars. The park is divided into several areas, is very clean and well maintained and in continuous renovation and modernization. Once we entered we immediately saw the area of the savannah, built in 2015, is an area that reproduces the habitat of the animals of the savannah, including zebras, rhinos and antelopes.

Il parco è grande 125 000 mq circa, al suo interno ci sono 120 specie di animali tra mammiferi, rettili e uccelli. Si percorre tutto il parco a piedi, ci sono varie aree pic nic dove è possibile fermarsi per fare una piccola pausa e mangiare ma anche ristoranti e bar. Il parco è suddiviso in varie aree, è molto pulito e curato e in continua ristrutturazione e modernizzazione. Una volta entrati abbiamo subito visto la zona della savana, realizzata nel 2015, è un’area che riproduce l’habitat degli animali della savana, tra cui zebre, rinoceronti e antilopi.

Continuing towards the path there is an area dedicated to the various species
of monkeys such as the Siamango, the Saimiri and the cotton-crowned
tamarin; but also other very cute animals such as lemurs and meerkats.
The areas are very well made, the animals have various pens within which they
can move from one to another using tunnels that are in the air.

Proseguendo verso il percorso si incontra una zona dedicata alla varie specie di scimmie come per esempio lo Siamango, i Saimiri e il tamarino dalla chioma di cotone; ma anche altri animali molto carini come i lemuri e i suricati. Le aree sono molto ben fatte, gli animali hanno vari recinti entro i quali possono muoversi spostandosi dall’uno all’altro utilizzando dei tunnel che si trovano in aria.

Then there are various areas that faithfully reproduce the habitats. Completely
enclosed inside a greenhouse there is this environment typical of the
rainforest, which faithfully reproduces the climate, in fact once you enter you
can immediately feel the great humidity and the very high temperature, from
the plants you see the humidity. In this area the animals are free; as well as in
the area of the tropical forest, famous for being the largest aviary in Italy. The
area is in fact about 7000 square meters large, closed in a network to prevent
the escape of animals living indoors in semi freedom. Visitors still have the
opportunity to get in touch with the animals because there is no real fence.

Ci sono poi varie aree che riproducono fedelmente gli habitat. Completamente chiuso all’interno di una serra c’è questo ambiente tipico della foresta pluviale, che riproduce fedelmente anche il clima, infatti una volta entrati si percepisce subito il grande tasso di umidità e la temperatura molto elevata, dalle piante si vede sgorgare l’umidità. In quest’area gli animali sono liberi; così come nell’area della Selva tropicale, famosa per essere la voliera più grande d'Italia. L’area è

infatti grande circa 7000 mq, chiusa in una rete per evitare la fuga degli animali che vivono all’interno in semi libertà. I visitatori hanno comunque la possibilità di entrare in contatto con gli animali perché non c’è un vero e proprio recinto.

Another area that I really liked is the area "Pinnawala" or Oasis of elephants built in 2017 and containing two Asian elephants. Nearby there was also the area dedicated to the giraffe, a very large area where the animals were free to move independently. Also nearby we visited the area dedicated to the big cats, tigers and lions, they are located in closed fences and you can see them through glass. If you are in the area I highly recommend visiting this park, especially if you are with children, they will be very surprised by the contact with these species of animals. See you soon

Altra zona che mi è piaciuta molto è l’area "Pinnawala” o Oasi degli elefanti realizzata nel 2017 e contenente due elefanti asiatici. Li vicino c’era anche l’area dedicata alla giraffe, una zona molto ampia dove gli animali erano liberi di muoversi in autonomia. Sempre nei pressi abbiamo visitato anche l’area dedicata ai grandi felini, tigri e leoni, si trovano in recinti chiusi ed è possibile vederli attraverso dei vetri. Se doveste trovarvi in zona vi consiglio vivamente la visita a questo parco, soprattutto se siete con dei bambini, rimarranno molto stupiti dal contatto con queste specie di animali.
