Hello fellow travelers! Once again here, taking advantage of the time we have left in this beloved community that allows us to know and appreciate different parts of the world. Almost two months ago I started a new stage in my life with some projects that I will tell you more about later. Among my routines, I have incorporated the practice of yoga twice a week, which helps me to maintain a harmonic balance in my life.
On my way from my house to the yoga studio, I pass by the corner of 12 and 23 in Havana's Vedado. It is very difficult for any Cuban living in Havana not to know where this intersection is located, as there are numerous important establishments and diverse uses around it, making it a place with space for different groups of people and activities. It is a busy corner that encloses culture and history, but what strikes me the most is all the cinematographic design that surrounds it.
¡Hola amigos viajeros! Una vez más por aquí, aprovechando el tiempo que nos queda en esta querida comunidad que nos permite conocer y apreciar diferentes partes del mundo. Hace casi dos meses comencé una nueva etapa en mi vida con algunos proyectos de los que les contaré más adelante. Entre mis rutinas, he incorporado la práctica de yoga dos veces por semana, lo que me ayuda a mantener un equilibrio armónico en mi vida.
De camino de mi casa al estudio de yoga, paso por la esquina de 12 y 23 en el Vedado habanero. Es muy difícil que cualquier cubano que viva en La Habana no sepa dónde se encuentra esta intersección, ya que a su alrededor hay numerosos establecimientos importantes y usos diversos, lo que la convierte en un lugar con espacio para diferentes grupos de personas y actividades. Es una esquina muy transitada que encierra cultura e historia, pero lo que más me llama la atención es todo el diseño cinematográfico que la rodea.
On one of the corners, there is a center known as “La Pelota”, a name that has endured over the years. Sometimes, this famous corner is known as “La Pelota's corner”. This name has great significance for Cubans, since “La Pelota” is what we call baseball, our national sport.
En una de las esquinas, se encuentra un centro conocido como "La Pelota", nombre que ha perdurado a lo largo de los años. A veces, esta famosa esquina es reconocida como "la esquina de La Pelota". Este nombre tiene un gran significado para los cubanos, ya que "La Pelota" es como llamamos al béisbol, nuestro deporte nacional.
Right next to the cafeteria-restaurant, there is a sequence of portals that includes as its main center the aforementioned cafeteria-restaurant, followed by a series of stores, boutiques and different enterprises that offer a variety of products and services.

On another corner is Pizzeria Cinecittà, an Italian food cafeteria that used to be famous for its inexpensive dishes, although it is now a bit desolate. I really like its name and design, which are related to the Instituto Cubano de Arte e Industria Cinematográfica, an important center located next door.
En otra esquina se encuentra la Pizzería Cinecittà, una cafetería de comida italiana que solía tener fama por sus platos económicos, aunque actualmente está un poco desolada. Me gusta mucho su nombre y diseño, que están relacionados con el Instituto Cubano de Arte e Industria Cinematográfica, un importante centro ubicado al lado.
The Centro Cinematográfico, besides being a large building that houses the offices of this institute, has a beautiful gallery that transports you through Cuba's cinematographic history. I have visited it at other times, on this occasion it was closed when I passed by. Next to it is the Charles Chaplin Hall, this cinema is almost always used as a venue for Latin American Film Festivals held in Havana. For this reason, many adjacent establishments have a design that resembles filming tapes, a detail that I love about this corner.
El Centro Cinematográfico, además de ser un gran edificio que alberga las oficinas de este instituto, cuenta con una hermosa galería que te transporta a través de la historia cinematográfica de Cuba. La he visitado en otros instantes, en esta ocasión estaba cerrada cuando pasé por allí. Al lado se encuentra , la sala Charles Chaplin, esta sala cinemattografica es utilizada casi siempre como sede de los Festivales de Cine Latinoamericos acontecidos en la Havana. Por eso, muchos establecimientos adyacentes tienen un diseño que asemeja cintas de rodaje, un detalle que me encanta de esta esquina.
On the sidewalk in front of the cinema is the Strawberry and Chocolate Cultural Center, name of the most famous Cuban movie, a beautiful space that pays tribute to cinema and everything related to this medium. This place hosts parties, exhibitions and events related to the seventh art. Outside, you can see images and names of prestigious Cuban films.
En la acera de enfrente al cine está el Centro Cultural Fresa y Chocolate, nombre de la pelicula cubana mas afamada, un bonito espacio que rinde homenaje al cine y todo lo relacionado con este medio. En ese lugar se realizan fiestas, exposiciones y eventos vinculados al séptimo arte. En el exterior, se pueden apreciar imágenes y nombres de prestigiosas películas cubanas.
Next to this center, closer to the corner, there is another more modern gastronomic center that bears precisely the name of the corner, “12 y 23”, which is always busy.
Al lado de este centro, más cerca de la esquina, hay otro centro gastronómico más moderno que lleva precisamente el nombre de la esquina, "12 y 23", el cual está siempre concurrido.
The last corner is occupied by a tall residential building that was completely repaired and a monument was erected on the first floor. In 1961, as explained on a plaque next to the monument, there was a great popular gathering that marked an important historical event for Cuba.
La última esquina está ocupada por un edificio alto de viviendas que que fue totalmente reparado y se le realizó un monumento en la planta baja. En el año 1961, como lo explica una tarja que se encuentra junto al monumento, se llevó a cabo una gran concentración popular que marcó un hecho histórico de importancia para Cuba.

Mi esquina preferida del Vedado! Jaja. En los bajos del edificio de vivienda hay también una galería de arte, tengo presente visitarla la próxima vez que pase por ahí.
