You know, there are places in your dreams that you don't want to wake up from? Now I want to take you to one of those beautiful places. We went to be fascinated by a stream flowing as if we were running away, in a gap that divides the towering mountains into two. Sapadere Canyon flows by pounding the karst rocks formed between the Taurus Mountains and filtering through the rocks.
Sapadere Canyon is located in Sapadere Village in Alanya district of Antalya province. It is approximately 45 km away from the center of Alanya, and you can go to the canyon in an hour with your own car. You can easily come here with minibuses departing from the center. You can even see many tourists coming here with the vehicles of some luxury hotels and the buses of tour companies. As you come to Sapadere Village, you will experience the feeling of traveling towards the unique beauty of the Taurus Mountains, encountering beautiful road views that are almost as impressive as the canyon. We even stopped at some roadsides and enjoyed the beautiful views.
After a journey of about an hour from Alanya center with our own vehicle, we come to Sapadere Canyon. A little behind the canyon, there is a beautiful business with 8 wooden rest cabins lined up side by side among the huge plane trees. You start to see the flowing waters of the canyon right next to the business. On the large colorful promotional board, we see pictures that will amaze us and increase our excitement.
To tour the Sapadere Canyon, we walk down the path between the greenery, paved with red stones on the sides, just ahead of the business, and head towards the toll booth section of the canyon. Sapadere Canyon is used as a Forest Park affiliated with Alanya Forest Management Directorate. At the box office, they set the entrance fee to the canyon as 60 TL. They charge 30 TL from students. It says it is free for children between the ages of 0-8. We buy our ticket and enter the canyon. There is also a hiking trail at the top of the canyon. We walked to a certain point on that track.
In order to be able to comfortably explore the inside of the canyon and see the beauties around you, they have set up a long walking platform made of wood with steel guards on the sides. Let me state it right away. You'll want to take pictures of every view we see here. That's why your walk may take quite some time. As we progress along the hiking trail, we see lush green grass clinging to the slopes of two high rocks, beautiful trees, and large and small waterfalls flowing between large and small white rocks.
As we walk along the canyon, we hear the loud sound of the stream coming out between two steep mountains and the sounds of different types of birds flying around. Since we arrived just in time, in the last week of April, we coincided with the fast flowing water of the canyon and the abundance of greenery around. The weather was hot. We sweated while walking. If you want to cool off here, you can swim in one of the natural pools formed by the canyon on the platform we walked on. I can say that the water is quite cold. You can use the stairs to go down to the natural pools.
While walking through the canyon, the stream offers the sound of peace accompanied by music and dazzles our eyes with its deep blue color. When we lift our heads up while walking, the white clouds visible between the steep rocks add another beauty to the view.
As we approach the end of the canyon, our excitement increases even more. We wonder what else we will see. As we move towards the point where this water coming from the rocks comes from, we climb the stairs to reach the observation terrace consisting of 386 steps. I can say that these stairs, which are also made of wood and whose sides are protected by steel, made us quite tired. But when we encountered a unique beauty in every corner we turned, we forgot all our tiredness.
While this view was going up the stairs to the terrace, we gave up going up to the top when people who saw that view told us that there was still a long way to go and that we could see the same views from the top. After walking to a certain point, we turned back. While returning, we could already see the canyon from above.
I couldn't leave here without seeing the waterfall of the canyon flowing from the top, about ten meters away. After descending the stairs, we continued on our way. As we continue our way between two steep rocks facing each other, we also pay attention to the warning signs. We admire the beauty of the natural pools formed by the stream beating the rocks.
Now we have come to the end of the road. Let me show you that fierce waterfall flowing from high above.
It immediately attracts attention with its sparkling and shiny appearance. The color and clarity of the pool into which the water falls is immediately evident.
This waterfall, which has been flowing for a long time, must have caused the formation of many natural pools around it, together with the ground formed by strong winds and landforms; Such beauty has emerged.

Hani uyurken hiç rüyanızdan uyanmak istemediğiniz, yerler olur ya; işte şimdi sizleri o güzel yerlerden birine götürmek istiyorum. Yükselen koca koca dağları ortadan ikiye bölen bir boşlukta, kaçarcasına şırıl şırıl akan bir akarsuyun büyüsüne kapılmaya gittik. Sapadere Kanyonu, Toros dağlarının arasında oluşan karstik kayaçları döverek, kayaların içinden süzülerek akıp gitmektedir.
Sapadere Kanyonu, Antalya ilinin, Alanya ilçesindeki Sapadere Köyünde yer alıyor. Alanya merkezine yaklaşık 45 km uzaklıkta olup, kendi aracınızla bir saatte, kanyona gidebilirsiniz. Yine merkezden kalkan dolmuşlarla buraya rahatlıkla gelebilirsiniz. Hatta bazı lüks otellerin araçlarıyla ve tur şirketlerinin otobüsleriyle buraya gelen çok sayıda turist görebilirsiniz. Sapadere Köyüne gelirken, neredeyse kanyon kadar etkili olan, güzel yol manzaralarıyla karşılaşarak, Torosların o eşsiz güzelliğine doğru seyahat ediyor olmanın hissini içinizde yaşıyor olacaksınız. Hatta bazı yol kenarlarında durup, güzel manzaraların tadını çıkardık.
Alanya merkezden kendi aracımızla yaklaşık bir saat süren yolculuktan sonra Sapadere Kanyonuna geliyoruz. Kanyonun az gerisinde koca çınar ağaçlarının arasında üst tarafı yan yana sıralanmış 8 ahşap usulü dinlenme kabinleri olan güzel bir işletme var. İşletmenin hemen yanında kanyonun akan sularını görmeye başlıyorsunuz. Renkli büyük tanıtım panosunda, bizi hayrete düşürecek ve heyecanımızı artıracak resimleri görüyoruz.
Sapadere Kanyonunun gezmek için, işletmenin az ilerinde, düzgün, yanları kırmızı taşlarla döşenmiş yeşilliklerin arasında bulunan yoldan yürüyerek kanyonun gişe bölümüne yöneliyoruz. Sapadere Kanyonu, Alanya Orman İşletme Müdürlüğüne bağlı Orman Parkı olarak kullanılıyor. Gişede kanyona giriş ücretini 60 TL olarak belirlemişler. Öğrencilerden 30 TL alıyorlar. 0-8 yaş arası çocuklara ücretsiz olduğu yazıyor. Biletimizi alarak, kanyona giriş yapıyoruz. Kanyonun tepe noktasında bir de doğa yürüyüş parkuru var. O parkurun belirli bir noktasına kadar yürüdük.
Kanyonun içini rahat gezebilmek ve etrafınızdaki güzelleri görebilmemiz için, ahşaptan yapılmış, yanlarında çelikten korumalıkları olan uzun bir yürüyüş platformu kurmuşlar. Hemen belirteyim. Burada gördüğümüz her manzaranın resmini çekmek isteyeceksiniz. O yüzden yürüyüşünüz oldukça zaman alabilir. Yürüyüş parkurunda ilerledikçe, iki yüksek kayanın yamacına tutunan yemyeşil otları, birbirinden güzel ağaçları, irili ufaklı beyaz kayaların arasından akan büyük ve küçük şelaleleri görüyoruz.
Kanyon boyunca yürüdükçe, iki sarp dağların arasından çıkan akarsuyun o gür sesini ve etrafça uçuşan değişik türden kuşların seslerini duyuyoruz. Biz, nisan ayının son haftasında yani tam zamanında geldiğimiz için, kanyonun hızla akan suyuna ve etraftaki yeşilliğin bolluk olduğu ana denk geldik. Hava sıcaktı. Yürürken terledik. Eğer burada serinlemek isterseniz, yürüdüğümüz platform da kanyonun oluşturduğu doğal havuzlardan birinde suya girebilirsiniz. Suyun oldukça soğuk olduğunu söyleyebilirim. Doğal havuzlara inmek için merdivenleri kullanabilirsiniz.
Kanyonun içinde yürürken, huzurun sesini bir müzik eşliğinde sunan akarsu, masmavi rengiyle de gözlerimizi kamaştırıyor. Yürürken kafamızı yukarı kaldırdığımızda, sarp kayaların arasından görünen beyaz bulut taneleri de manzaraya ayrı bir güzellik katıyor.
Kanyonun sonuna doğru yaklaştığımızda, heyecanımız daha da artıyor. Daha neler göreceğimizi merak ediyoruz. Kayaların arasından gelen bu suyun geldiği noktaya doğru ilerlerken, 386 basamaktan oluşan seyir terasının olduğu yere doğru çıkmak için merdivenlerden çıkıyoruz. Yine ahşaptan yapılmış ve yanları çelikten koruma altına alınan bu merdivenler bizi oldukça yordu diyebilirim. Ama her döndüğümüz köşesinden eşsiz bir güzellikle karşılaştığımızda, tüm yorgunluğumuzu unutuyorduk.
Bu seyir merdivenlerden yukarı terasa çıkarken o manzarayı gören kişilerden yolun daha çok olduğunu ve o aynı manzaraları tepe noktasından görebileceğimizi söyleyince en tepeye kadar çıkmaktan vazgeçtik. Belirli bir noktaya kadar yürüdükten sonra geri döndük. Dönerken zaten kanyonu yukardan kuşbakışı görebiliyorduk.
Kanyonun o yaklaşık on metreden tepeden akan şelalesini görmeden buradan ayrılamazdım. Seyir merdivenlerden indikten sonra yolumuza devam ettik. Birbirine karşılıklı bakan iki sarp kayaların arasından yolumuza devam ederken uyarı tabelalarını da dikkate alıyoruz. Kayaları döven akarsuyun oluşturduğu doğal havuzların güzelliğine hayran kalıyoruz.
Artık, yolun sonuna geldik. O yüksekten akan hırçın şelaleyi sizlere hemen göstereyim.
Işıltılı ve parlak görüntüsüyle, hemen dikkat çekiyor. Suyun düştüğü havuzun rengi ve berraklığı hemen kendini belli ediyor.
Çok eskiden beri akan bu şelalenin, şiddetli esen rüzgarların ve yer şekillerinin oluşturduğun zeminle birlikte etrafında bir çok doğal havuzların oluşumuna da sebebiyet vermiş olmalı ki; böyle bir güzellik ortaya çıkmış.
