Last week, I had the pleasure of guiding two clients to Leke-Leke Waterfall, a lesser-known but captivating spot in Bali π΄. Despite being a tour guide for a long time, there are always new places for me to discover. This waterfall is just an example of such a place.

When we arrived at the site, a friendly girl behind the entrance ticket counter explained the way down to the waterfall. She also mentioned that the ticket includes a 10 percent off coupon at the restaurant located at the start of the way down. Hmm, that's a creative way to promote a restaurant, I thought π‘.
The path was a bit challenging in some parts, but there are a lot of stairs built by the locals. We only had to trek down a dirt path after some time when arriving in the forest π³.
Walking through the forest, we finally encountered a bamboo bridge over a river. The girl at the counter mentioned, once we pass the bamboo bridge, the path will go up for a while, and then down. That's the end of the trek ποΈ.

As we got closer to the end of the trek, I began to hear the sound of water splashing on rocks. Then, I saw the waterfall slowly emerge from between the bushes. The sounds of kids playing in the shallow stream below the waterfall became clearer π§π§. There were about ten or so visitors at the waterfall.

While we were there, we saw a heartwarming moment π. A man proposed to his girlfriend in front of the waterfall π. I thought I only saw scenes like this in videos on YouTube or Instagram, but this was real life. (Note: proposing to a girl this way is not the tradition in Bali.) It was a touching scene. Everyone cheered for them π.
Leke-Leke Waterfall may not be as well-known as others. But it is a peaceful and beautiful spot to visit in Bali. The serene surroundings and the joy of discovering a hidden gem make it a memorable experience. It is perfect for anyone seeking a break from the tourist crowds .(at least until the time this post was written)
