Hello dear friends,
In this article today, I would like to share with you some photos I took in a beautiful place, another place that connects to what I shared with you on Sunday, namely Montemassi, which is not far away. And we are still in the province of Grosseto.
Some people I met around Italy with my work, when I talk to them about Tuscany and this area which is Grosseto, it seems to be considered only from a naturalistic point of view, but actually in this part of Tuscany there are villages and historical places which I find very interesting.
As is the case of Roccatedereghi, a name almost difficult to pronounce, but which is actually a place rich in history especially it had a decisive role in the medieval period.
This place is about 33 km from Grosseto and 115 km from Florence and it is practically nestled on a rocky spur, as you can already see from the first photos I'm sharing, the protagonist is its castle, which was built around 952 and is called Rocca Norsina. As you can always see from the first photos, there is some life in this village, and I noticed it as soon as I arrived, naturally I always do my classic exploration on foot, the best way to visit these places.
And if you notice from the beginning the architecture of the village is quite different from other villages I have visited, made with a very different material, but as you can also notice some houses are for sale, because here too there are many second homes or holiday homes, or probably even houses inherited from people who no longer live in Italy.
In certain points you can notice how this village is nestled in this rock, you can really see that they practically exploited every space to build the houses, but how clever were they once??
Naturally even in these villages you can find many cats, and this thing makes me so happy because you know how much I love these animals.
At the end of my walk I arrived at the highest part of the village, it was a beautiful but very tiring walk Also because it was quite hot, practically it's where the remains and the oldest part of the village are located, but it's also the place where you can have a 360-degree panorama of the whole area, and I always love these panoramic points so much.
Then after being there for an hour contemplating the view, I started my descent always through the streets of this beautiful village, And I could also notice that someone still lives there permanently because there were clothes hanging out to dry,
But I could also see that one of the most common means of transport in this area is the Ape car, Also because it is really difficult to pass with a car in these alleys.
