A variety of food during a trip through the taiga

Hi!

There was a very interesting company on our trip to Votto-Vaaru mountain, which is located in Karelia.
All the people were from different cities, they had never known each other before. They were mostly young people, but there were also a few elderly people.
By some fate, we all ended up in this remote taiga this August.
It is clear that the trip was not a pleasure tour. It couldn't even be called entertaining.
It was my wife's first experience of living in a tent. Unlike me, she had no idea what it was like to live in the woods. Many of our other comrades on this trip were in a similar situation for the first time.
But everyone endured the difficulties of the campaign calmly and with humor.

Mosquitoes and midges swarmed, we were sweating under the scorching rays of the sun during the day. We were freezing at night in cold tents.
There was a potential danger of encountering a bear or a viper.
But everyone got used to such an environment in just a day and a half.

But what advantages we got from this trip! Never again have we come across so many mushrooms. We had them for lunch and dinner. We fished in the local lakes. And there were a lot of fish there, because this place is remote from populated areas. And there is no one here to catch this fish. So she reproduces unhindered.

Of course, we took enough canned food with us. And they were the basis of our diet. But without fresh fish and mushrooms, our food would not be so great.

And it is definitely worth mentioning wild berries. It was mostly blueberries.
You will never find such large and delicious berries in an ordinary forest or in a store.

And there was no need to look for her. She was everywhere. And I also tasted the cloudberry berry for the first time here. It tastes like dried fruits cooked for compote.

I have roughly described the way we eat on the mountain. Needless to say, we didn't leave a single wrapper behind. All the garbage was taken back to the city.

Therefore, the nature of the mountain remained as beautiful as it was before our arrival. Rocks, rocks, and more rocks. Among which there were huge "seyds".
It would be nice for other travelers to also respect nature.

Travel farther and longer!

It reminds me a lot of a place in the province of Buenos Aires called Sierra de la Ventana. Beautiful indeed.

Yes, nature can be similar in completely different parts of the planet! Thank you for your interest in the post!
