Cult films are really interesting, since you can't really know if a film will be a cult film or not until several years later. However, there are certain points that are taken into account for a film to be a cult film and therefore some people can intuit which film will enter that collective over time. Being "misunderstood", innovative in some way, strange, without much critical or audience acclaim, these characteristics make you suspect which films will become cult films over the years. Here, some of my predictions:
- Babylon: Damien Chazelle's last movie had so many bad reviews that I didn't want to see it and it wasn't until it was on the internet that I saw it. What a bad decision not to have gone to the theater, because even though it is loud and pointless, it is a loud and pointless movie that fills you with emotion and what impressed me the most: you can feel the money. The production, being a tribute to the golden age of cinema, feels like a film from the golden age of cinema, where there were no special effects but there were hundreds of extras everywhere and made the filming a spectacle as such.
- Beau is afraid: From the mind that made Midsommar and Hereditary comes his probably most personal and least polished film. Ari Aster was given free rein and it shows, as everything that happens in this film is something that no producer would have allowed, and although it gets a little out of hand, it is much better a film that takes that kind of risk than a textbook film. Beau is afraid tells us about Beau's journey to see his mother, and from here on, as they say, I can't tell you, you have to live it. A film that is hard to recommend, but honestly, it is quite an experience.
- The killer: unlike the previous film, the killer is perhaps the most refined film of its director, David Fincher, who delivers a film noir reminiscent of Le Samourai or i was never really here, being this film super "tiny" but so focused on itself that it seems a master class in how to get to the point and tell a story without getting too tangled but still create a story rich in characters, synopsis and its world. Fincher, who already has cult films like fight club, in the killer hits the mark again, I'm sure, just at the wrong time.
Like these there are hundreds of other cult movies that are not yet cult, but these three are the ones that come to mind now to start this little list of good movies that at some point will give a lot to talk about. With this in mind and remembering the movies you've seen, which one do you think will be a cult movie in a few years?

Las películas de culto son realmente interesantes, ya que no se puede saber bien si una película será de culto o no hasta pasados varios años. Sin embargo, hay ciertos puntos que se tienen en cuenta para que una película sea una película de culto y por lo mismo algunas personas podemos intuir que película entrará en ese colectivo con el tiempo. El ser “incomprendidas”, innovadoras de alguna forma, extrañas, sin mucha aceptación de la crítica o de la audiencia, estas características te hacen sospechar que películas serán de culto con los años. Aquí, algunas de mis predicciones:
- Babylon: La última película de Damien Chazelle tuvo tantas malas críticas que se me quitaron las ganas de verla y no fue hasta que estuvo en internet que la vi. Que mala decisión no haber ido al cine, porque a pesar de que si es ruidosa y sin sentido, pero es una película ruidosa y sin sentido que te llena de emoción y lo que a mí me impresionó más: se siente el dinero. La producción, siendo un homenaje a la época dorada del cine, se siente como una película de la época dorada del cine, dónde no había efectos especiales sino que había cientos de extras por todos lados y hacían del rodaje todo un espectáculo como tal.
- Beau is afraid: De la mente que hizó Midsommar y Hereditary llega su película, probablemente, más personal y menos depurada. Se le dio rienda suelta a Ari Aster y se nota, ya que todo lo que pasa en esta película es algo que ningún productor hubiese permitido, y aunque se le va un poco de las manos, es mucho mejor una película que se arriesgue de esa forma que una película de manual. Beau is afraid nos cuenta el viaje de Beau para ir a ver a su madre, y a partir de aquí, cómo se dice por ahí, no te lo puedo contar, tienes que vivirlo. Una película que cuesta mucho recomendar pero que sinceramente es toda una experiencia.
- The killer: a diferencia de la película anterior, the killer tal vez sea la película más depurada de su director, David Fincher, que entrega una película de cine negro que recuerda a Le Samourai o a i was never really here, siendo esta película super “pequeñita” pero tan centrada en si misma que parece una clase magistral de cómo ir al grano y contar una historia sin enredarse mucho pero aun así crear una historia rica en personajes, sinopsis y su mundo. Fincher, quien ya tiene películas de culto como el club de la pelea, en the killer vuelve a dar en el blanco, estoy seguro, solo que a destiempo.
Como estas hay cientos de otras películas de culto que aún no son de culto, pero estas tres son las que se me ocurren ahora para empezar esta pequeña lista de buenas películas que en algún momento darán mucho de qué hablar.
