Movie Review: "The Adjustment Bureau"

So guys, over the weekend, I was so bored and looking for something to watch. Network was so bad and because of that, Netflix wouldn't work. So I switched on my Dstv and then I saw that the movie "The Adjustment Bureau" was just starting. Since I have nothing else doing, I decided to see it.

The Adjustment Bureau is a captivating movie which has a blend of romance, science fiction and thriller. It is directed by George Nolfi and is based on a short story by Philip K. Dick. I just couldn't get enough of the movie and so, I have decided to share my thoughts about the movie.

So guys, this movie stars two powerful actors, Matt Damon who played the role of David Norris, an ambitious politician, and Emily Blunt as Elise Sellas, a spirited dancer. The two of them met by chance and their meeting ended up sparkling a powerful and instant connection that ended up facing lots of extraordinary obstacles.

This Adjustment Bureau is all about a mysterious secretive organization that kind of controls the fate of humanity according to a predetermined plan. So when David and Elise's relationship ended up deviating from this particular plan, the Bureau had to look for ways to keep them apart. Since the adjustment bureau has this ability of altering reality and manipulate events, they decided to use that to their advantage to create lots of formidable challenges just to stop David and Elise from being together. I won't say more than this because I don't want to be a spoiler. All I would say here is that the movie ended so well.

Truth be told, I am so impress with the performance of Matt Damon and Emily Blunt. They totally delivered a very strong performance in this movie, and trust me, they did so well to create believable chemistry that was able to drive the emotional heart of this interesting movie. I still feel that their struggle against the powerful forces of the Bureau is suppose to raise lots of questions about free will, destiny, and the lengths one will go to for true love.

Notwithstanding, I love the fact that this movie makes an excellent use of the landscapes of New York City and this makes the visuals on point. The cinematography was also so powerful that it was able to enhance the movie's mysterious and sometime surreal atmosphere when combined with a suspenseful score.

I also love the fact that this movie is not only intriguing, but it also found a way to explore deeper philosophical themes same way it explores the tension between fate and free will, and whether an individuals can carve their own paths despite external forces that are trying to shape their destinies or not. I really think they did so well in adding these themes into the narrative of this movie without overshadowing the romantic storyline.

So in conclusion guys, I feel this movie is a thought-provoking and engaging one that was able to successfully combine the elements of romance, thriller and science fiction. While watching this entertaining and well acted movie, it made me to ponder over questions about life and love and I believe it's the same with others who have seen the movie right? I really don't know but I feel I have so many questions I need answers to.

But this actually does not stop this movie from being the captivating movie it is. So guys, it doesn't matter if you're drawn to its love story or its philosophical part of it, trust me, this movie offers a unique and memorable movie experience you wouldn't want to miss.
