The End Of Crypto Privacy

SAMOURAI WALLET FOUNDERS ARRESTED

When several exchanges delisted Monero, the most popular crypto wallet, I made a video talking about how the governments of the world, at least in the West, will go after all the privacy (anonymity) optoins we have in Crypto.

Today I saw the news that the founders of Samourai Wallet, one of the most popular providers of mixing services in crypto, were arrested on charges of "money laundering". It's important to note that they themselves were probably not accused of laundering money directly, but providing the facility for others to do that.

I noted that no CEO of any establishment bank has ever seen a day in prison even though their companies have been fined large sums of money for that exact charge - money laundering. Jamie Dimon's company, JP Morgan, has done much worse than Binance for instance, when it comes to providing money laundering facility to would be offenders. CZ, on the other hand, is facing the hammer right this minute for all manner of allegations, some of which he admitted guilt for.

At present the website has been taken over by the conglomerate of international bodies that collaborated in this heist; The US Government, FBI, IRS, Europol, Portuguese Police and Icelandic authorities. It was an international collab that resulted in arrest, cessation of network, arrests and extraditions from Europe to the US.

I'm not saying offenders shouldn't face the law, just please make it fair across the board.

Peace & Love,

Adé

Bankers definitely need to be accountable, but crypto is supposed to operate beyond borders and regulation. In practice it needs infrastructure and people that may get raided. There's no ideal system.

I agree about bankers. They ruined so many lives

As with any field I don't believe all people in certain roles are bad, but some will act selfishly. Being rich and powerful should not exclude you from punishment.
