My 43rd Instacart paycheck 💸 🛒

This may have not been my best week ever, but I did have my best order ever this week. Friday is the day I received my biggest tip ever. $145!

I plan on doing a weekly Instacart Financial Report like this one, so if you enjoy this kind of content be sure to follow me if you aren't already doing so.

I'm going to be breaking down each day of work individually. Luckily, the Instacart Shopper app makes that extremely easy to do. Let's go ahead and get things started.

Monday, November 13th

Tuesday, November 14th

No orders = No work

Wednesday, November 15th

By the time Wednesday came around, I was pretty desperate for some orders. I hadn't had any work at all since last Friday and even that day was very slow. I had to force myself to accept a few sub-par orders just so I could have some sort of earnings to hit the halfway point of the week.

I made about $34.82/hr on this day.

As you can see, my hourly pay is much lower than usual. This is because the few orders that were available were just okay. The main reason I took them is because all of the houses were less than a mile from the store. This hasn't been a good start to the week. I'm hoping that the Instacart algorithm feels sorry for me and gives me some work over the next four days because I'm ready for it.

Thursday, November 16th

I wouldn't call Thursday my greatest day or earnings ever, but I at least earned a little bit. I turned the app online as soon as I got home from the gym. It took over an hour until I finally got my first order.

I made about $41.65/hr on this day.

The second order was the better of the two, that is the one that gave me the cash tip. It was a double batch and after I delivered the first order I had to drive down off the hill they lived on because I had no cell service to progress to the next delivery.

Of course, the second delivery was in the opposite direction that I went to get cell service. Then the alternate road it took me on was completely closed down due to construction. It added about 5 minutes to my drive, which was made up for by the $5 cash tip that the nice old man handed me on top of his $8 in-app tip. He was barely able to walk, so I went into his house and set all of his stuff on the kitchen counter for him. As I was leaving he asked me to grab his mail which was up 15-20 stairs beside where I parked. I'd say I made his day a heck of a lot easier than it would have been without me.

Friday, November 17th

Friday was absolutely amazing! I set a new personal record for highest highest-paying order. My first order of the day paid me a total of $154 after the $50 cash tip the man gave me on top of his already generous $96 tip. Instacart on the other hand paid me just $8.50 to complete the order. If it wasn't for the customer, I wouldn't have even made my gas money back. This was the same customer that tipped me over $100 a few weeks ago. I'm hoping this is one of my new regulars because this kind of pay is what keeps my Instacart journey alive.

I made about $86.29/hr on this day.

I took a break after that first order and I was very happy as you can imagine. A few hours later I got another order that was small and the house was 0.1 miles from the store. I had to accept that one and shortly after I completed it I got my third and final order of the day. This last one ended up being my very first Target order. All they wanted was a $120 twin mattress. Luckily it was somehow folded up in a box and fit into my car. I was in and out of the store in just a few minutes. I did have to deal with some traffic and heavy rain on the way to the customer's house, but it wasn't too bad. Another bonus for that order, the customer lived downtown near my apartment.

All in all, it was an amazing day. I made more on Friday than I did the entirety of Week 32, crazy I know. I still have two days left, so I may actually be able to make up for the fact that I earned half as much as I needed to last week.

Saturday, November 18th

Saturday was pretty slow, but luckily I kept the app online all day despite not getting any orders for most of it. By the time evening rolled around, I finally got a few solid orders.

I made about $51.06/hr on this day.

Sunday, November 19th

sunnov19.jpg

This was yet another extremely dead Sunday. That is, unless you enjoy taking orders that barely even pay for your gas to deliver them. I had to decline over 50 orders.

I made about $32.25/hr on this day.

The one batch that I took had two orders. The first of which was a delivery to this old lady who took forever to come downstairs to meet me at the entrance of her locked apartment building. She is very sweet and quite flirtatious actually, but I spent almost 10 minutes just standing out there waiting by my car.
I can't complain too much though as this would end up being my only order of the day. Ending the week on a very slow note.

End of week hours and pay 🤑

My weekly pay was close to $400 and I barely worked over 7 hours.

I made about $55.39/hr on average this past week.

Doing it again next week 👀

Although the number of orders I accept and thus hours I can work have diminished, I still have a few amazing customers who are making this job sustainable. On to the next week, we go. I know I will be taking at least one full day off due to Thanksgiving, hopefully not any more than that though.

Your consistency is amazing..

I remember when you talked about your first day on instacart

It has been over 300 days since I started doing this. I will reach my one-year mark in just a few months.

I wis you the very best..
I am so wishing to be in the US

Dude I hope that you can make your dream come true one day and get over here.

Its a matter of time.. Gotten most of the certifications needed tho...

I got a few interviews too..

I really like the opportunities in your country

Damn dude that’s a pretty nice bit of work! Those generous tips certainly make it worth it.

Also thank you for helping that elderly man with the mail, those are the simple things but positive impacts for them.

Without the tips I wouldn’t be doing this job. As much as I enjoy it, Instacart pays next to nothing anymore. 75%+ of my earnings are from customer tips.

I’m always happy to help when I can. I know some people don’t have family that care about them when they get old.

Yeah for sure it’s feeling like waitress and food service wages. All you do is make money on tips sadly.

😊🤙 yea, pay is down, but still beats slinging burgers or putting up with endless bad customers/workplace nonsense, all for minimum wage or close to it..

I'm doing everything I can to not ever get stuck with a miserable job like that. I've managed to avoid fast food all of my life so far, I think I can keep it going.

Hi, nice $50 tip on Friday, nice report, have a good day.👍👍👍

Believe it or not, that customer tipped me $145 total

Your weekly instacart report is very interesting. Wish your earnings will increase more.

There comes a time when there is no work, but a person should not worry and should keep working, then everything will be fine.
