There was no better way to raise the money Alisha was demanding for her 21st birthday party.

“I want to have a MAD in-house party with ALL of my close gees and acquaintances,” she had begun in that her black girl intonation, “Rita would be there, that loud mouth who will be prancing around looking for where I didn't get my preparations right….”

“Babe, you're not doing this party for Rita, you're doing it for you” Dan replied taking strands of her purple braids in between his fingers.

“Of course, I'm so doing it for me but she's gon’ be there and so is Leanora”

Dan rolled his eyes at the thought of Leanora. Alisha and Leah were best friends turned sworn enemies and they started having issues because Leah thought he wasn't good Enough for Alisha.

“Then Olive is gonna be live on the gram, showing the entire world what my party is going to be like. I cannot afford to under-deliver baby, I need that money”

Dan had spent 5 days during the past week thinking of how he was going to get 20,000 US dollars before the 18th of the Next month, and his answer was NOW staring him right in his face.

He took the flier and went over to hiEdward. Since Eddie was Alisha's older cousin, there was no way he was refusing the offer Dan had.

“Hey bro,” Dan extended his hand for a handshake and smiled when Eddie pulled him in for a hug.

“I see what you doing with my sister bruh, and I appreciate it. Take care of the girl good, I'm all she's got”

“I got you bro” Dan responded, grabbing Eddie's hand once more.

“Now Ed, I got a job for you”

He took the flier out of his shirt pocket and handed it over to the bigger guy. Edward was an upcoming music producer and seeing that both of his parents died leaving him for Alisha's parents to cater to, he ventured into all sorts of businesses; anything to reduce the financial load on his uncle and aunt.

Dan knew he could not reduce the offer.

“This is a flier for the biggest music concert coming up in this part of the country,” Ed said, his brows raised in question.

“Yeah, bro. We're going to cash out big from this, and just after the concert is Alisha's birthday. I need mad cash for that bro”

Ed knew where the conversation was going already. “So, where do I come in?”

Dan took the flier from him and pointed to a particular spot where ‘Tickets’ were printed boldly.

“We're going to sell tickets.” He knew that Ed wasn't following but he was looking for the most easy way to explain the term he had googled earlier that week. “It's called scalping in trading; I get to buy a lot of these tickets and keep them till the available tickets for the concert are completely exhausted. Then I begin to sell mine at a higher price”

Ed raised his brows in comprehension. “Oh”

“Now this is where you come in. I need your connection, okay? I don't know as many people as you do, so we're going to go over to this concert planning committee and tell them we want about 2 hundred tickets….”

“Are you out of your mind? That's mad money bro”

“Chill,” Dan placed his palm on Ed's chest to stop him from walking away like he intended. “Listen, we're not paying for these tickets. We'll get them and help them sell the first hundred. When we're sure tickets in the city and beyond are completely exhausted, we hike the price of the remaining hundred. We give them their money and take ours. Everybody's happy”

Ed took Dan's palm away from his chest and shook his head “I don't trust this plan, it's not foolproof. Besides I'm trying to get into the good books of people in the industry, if I do something like this, I could get into trouble. I'm sorry”

Dan nodded angrily and walked out of the studio. If he didn't get the money for Alisha's party, Ed would be one of the first people to scream that he was not good enough for her into his face. He was going to get this scalping done with or without Ed's help.

The first problem was getting a connection to get with tickets but with a few dollar notes, he was able to comfortably get himself 150 tickets. He didn't need the initial 200 anymore since Ed wasn't in on the plan.

By the 18th of the following month, he didn't have $20k but he had just enough to make Alisha's party trend for 2 weeks on the gram. And there was nothing more fulfilling than that.
