Los estudiantes de indumentaria dibujamos mucho, para entender una prenda y sus detalles en una de mis clases nos pusieron a dibujar algunas cosas a mano, la idea era que elijamos prendas y vayamos dibujando a manos sus detalles, en general este tipo de dibujos los hacemos en computadora, así que no tengo tanta experiencia haciéndolos a manos y un poco estoy fuera de practica en copiar cosas, era algo que me gustaba mucho hacer de chica, pero ahora es algo que no hago casi nunca.
We clothing students draw a lot, to understand a garment and its details, in one of my classes they had us draw some things by hand, the idea was that we choose garments and draw their details by hand, in general we make these types of drawings on a computer, so I don't have that much experience doing them by hand and I'm a little out of practice in copying things, it was something that I really liked to do as a girl, but now it's something that I almost never do.
La tarea consistía en ver las prendas y encontrar unos 8 o 10 detalles interesantes y dibujarlos, así como también hacer una de ellas de frente y espalda, ese dibujo me costó más y hasta es un poco feo jajaja, pero los detalles me quedaron mucho mejor. Hacer dibujos de este tipo ayuda a poder entender cómo se cose una prenda, cuantas costuras lleva y también es un poco ir trabajando en reconocer las materialidades que van conformando esto, es un trabajo doble, ya que por un lado tiene análisis y por el otro el trabajo creativo de dibujar a mano.
The task was to look at the clothes and find about 8 or 10 interesting details and draw them, as well as make one of them from the front and back, that drawing was more difficult for me and is even a little ugly hahaha, but the details looked much better to me . Making drawings of this type helps to understand how a garment is sewn, how many seams it has and it is also a bit of working on recognizing the materialities that make up this, it is a double job, since on the one hand it has analysis and on the other the creative work of drawing by hand.
Empecé con los detalles de la campera y compensé las cosas que había hecho mal en el otro dibujo, fui primero por cómo se veía el cuello abierto, ya que en la versión de cuello cerrado mi dibujo era caótico y feo jajaja.
I started with the details of the jacket and compensated for the things I had done wrong in the other drawing, I went first with how the open neck looked, since in the closed neck version my drawing was chaotic and ugly hahaha.
Lo divertido de que sea un dibujo relajado y proporcionado es que simplemente había que ver y copiar, pero yo no lo hice así tal cual, saque las fotos que me interesaban y las amplie en Photoshop jajaa, es me permitió una mirada mucho mejor, y verlo de frente pudiendo hacer zoom me ayuda muchísimo más y fue más rápido.
The fun thing about it being a relaxed and proportional drawing is that you simply had to see and copy, but I didn't do it as is, I took the photos that interested me and enlarged them in Photoshop haha, it gave me a much better look, and Seeing it from the front and being able to zoom in helps me a lot more and it was faster.
Ayuda mucho tener la prenda e ir dibujándola con mucho cuidado, pero siempre planteando unos trazos base para después ir modificando pequeñas cosas, también tengo un lápiz nuevo que es bastante suave y un lápiz mecánico para ayudarme con las pequeñas rayas que tenía que ir haciendo por las costuras.
It helps a lot to have the garment and draw it very carefully, but always lay out some basic strokes and then modify small things. I also have a new pencil that is quite soft and a mechanical pencil to help me with the small lines that I had to make by the seams.
El trabajo y los detalles fueron avanzando bastante bien, así que me emocioné un poco e hice varios más de los que necesitaba, pero eso era lo que iba a ayudar a mejorar mi nota y así lo fue jajaj, hice detalle de bolsillos, de adentro y de afuera de la prenda y la secuencia de cómo se abre el cierre, esto fue lo más difícil ya que me detuve a mirar varias veces para hacerlo bien.
The work and the details were progressing quite well, so I got a little excited and did several more than I needed, but that was what was going to help improve my grade and that's how it was hahaha, I did details of the pockets, the inside and from the outside of the garment and the sequence of how the zipper is opened, this was the most difficult since I stopped to look several times to get it right.
Con este trabajo listo el que sigue es uno similar pero esta vez será todo en computadora, así que es un gran momento para recordar todos los atajos de illustrator y hacer que mi geometral sea muy parecido a la prenda que me toque dibujar, espero poder resolverlo rápido y que mis notas se mantengan en objetivo.

After a met a friend who was into fashion designing, I got to realize that clothing students draw a lot. But what if a clothing student cannot draw? Does it mean that such a person will not be successful?
