A New Start: My Journey Into The World Of Hive Blockchain

in OCD16 days ago

Hi, everyone.

My name is Oghenetejiri, which means God is worthy of praise. I prefer to be called Teji which is the shorter version of my name. I am a lady, slim, fair skinned and of average height. I was born on the 19th of August and I am 19 years of age, soon to be 20. I am the first child out of four. This gives me a sense of responsibility as my siblings look up to me. Though, things can get heavy sometimes, and just then I wish for an elder sibling to hold me up. I am currently in my second year of study at a prestigious university in Nigeria. I study Mass Communication under the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies. If I am asked to pick a career though, I think I will be branching out into Public Relations and Advertising.

My favorite colors are brown and green. I love them because they are calming and soothing. They are almost everywhere, in nature. I love eating snacks like biscuits, chips, yoghurts. I also love cereals. I kind of prefer these to actual food.

My hobbies are reading, writing, laughing, listening to music and of course, doodling. In all my notebooks, a form of doodle must be found. My favorite hobby though is reading. I read any fiction I can get my hands on. I find the genres of mystery, thriller, fantasy, crime fiction and romance, and also a little bit of horror interesting.

MUSIC

Music is ever present in my daily life. During chores, study time, running errands, and other activities, I love to listen to music. I don't have a favorite genre, so I indulge myself in different jams. Hip-hop, country/folk music, RnB, Afrobeats, and a little bit of soul. Lately, I have found myself falling in love with Alec Benjamin's songs. I like Olivia Rodrigo, Tate McRae and Harry Styles amongst others.

WRITING

Writing has been an on and off hobby for me. I could write stuff for days on end and neglect it for weeks. I found out though that sadness and melancholy particularly trigger my creativity. It seems that when your heart aches over something, all the words buried somewhere within comes to life and you feel like pouring. When I am in these moods, the words spilling from my pen knows no bounds. I recently discovered that I am good at telling stories through letters. I love writing and reading about love and loss. I think these two work in tandem. I love love.

WATCHING MOVIES

I also love watching movies, especially ones with epic plot twists, ones that can do your mind over. I love psychological thrillers, movies about serial killers, unknown murderers, movies that will keep me guessing and solving puzzles. An example of this is the TV series, 'YOU'. At the end of each season, I was left sitting at the edge of my seat. It felt like I was in the killer's mind and I had to understand why he did what he did. It felt like each killing was justified. I am stoked for the last season which is in production already. I like sci-fi and paranormal movies. Movies that mixes the conscious and subconscious together, that shows the magnificence and workings of science and technology. It keeps me wondering just how smart humans are.

Yesss, I also love indulging myself in aesthetic picture,(pictures that speak), quotes, writeups. Sad stuff is my thing. Things that would make my eyes water and my heart ache is what I relate with.

One character trait I love about myself is my one track mind and doggedness in achieving something if I really want it. This has really helped in my academic life. Not so much in my social life though, lol. I also have the ability to easily absorb and understand material in a short time and I'm grateful for it.

I don't have a particular job I do. I just find myself dabbling in odds and ends. Sometimes, I do a little bit of graphic designing and sometimes, I tutor to make money. I decided to turn my writing hobby into something that could earn me a living and that's where @justfavour comes in. He told me about Hive a long time ago but I was still fidgeting and sitting on my hands due to some circumstances out of my control. I want to say a big thank you to him for nudging me out of my comfort zone and motivating me to give Hive a go.

In 2021, on impulse, I decided to learn cryptocurrency. I took an online course on NFTs and coins but due to some unforeseen issues, I had to drop the course. I intend to maybe pick it up again. I plan to invest my time and energy and learn a lot on this journey I'm about to embark on. I plan to learn about content creation, the world of cryptocurrency amongst other things. I also plan to touch people's hearts with my writings and hope my works resonate with them.

While doing this, I will also ensure I support the community in whatever way I can, by encouraging other writers and Hivers in their various endeavors.I hope this turns out to be the best decision I have ever made.

Thanks for having me here.

Sad moments definitely have a way of bringing the best pieces out of us. Usually, it's when I hit rock bottom that I find myself the most creative.

Welcome to Hive Teji, I hope you have a wonderful journey here :)

Thank you very much, Takhar

You're most welcome!

Welcome to the Hive community @terjix!
We sincerely hope you find everything you are looking for and have found a new home here.

Seven suggestions to consider:

  1. Guard your passwords carefully, and only publish with the posting key,
  2. Use your active key only for wallet transactions, Keychain, Peaklock, and Hivesigner,
  3. The master password and the owner key are only used to reset compromised passwords,
  4. DO NOT lose your password or keys; copy and store offline,
  5. Do not publish other people's work, be it photos or written, without credit, and be sure to source all of your work, even if it is your own.
  6. An introduceyourself tag is used only once , and
  7. DO NOT OPEN any links in memos or comments that you do not know who they belong to. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is, so the old saying goes. There is nothing free here.

I found you because @brittandjosie and @jamerussell from @heyhaveyamet presented and promoted your publication to get more exposure and help you grow faster.
