Hello, it is a pleasure for me to be once again with you, dear hives and friends of #dailyblog, to share another one of my tours. This time, I directed my steps towards the charming Laguna El Morro.
In previous posts, I have mentioned this beautiful lagoon located in the city of Porlamar, Nueva Esparta state, on Margarita Island.
This time, I almost completed the loop around the lagoon, which is quite extensive, trying to find some access to it, as it is surrounded by a thick mangrove swamp.
El Morro Lagoon has always fascinated me for the turquoise color of its waters, the intense green of its vegetation and the flamingos that, seasonally, choose it as their home.
I ventured on this tour wanting to discover new perspectives closer to the lagoon, as I felt I owed it to myself and also wanted to share with you the views I could capture, that was something that had me very motivated since I left home.
Hola, es un placer para mí estar una vez más con ustedes, queridos hives y amigos de #dailyblog, para compartir otro de mis recorridos. En esta oportunidad, dirigí mis pasos hacia la encantadora Laguna El Morro.
En publicaciones anteriores, he mencionado esta hermosa laguna ubicada en la ciudad de Porlamar, estado Nueva Esparta, en la Isla Margarita.
Esta vez, casi completé la vuelta alrededor de la laguna, que es bastante extensa, intentando encontrar algún acceso a ella, ya que está rodeada por un espeso manglar.
La Laguna El Morro siempre me ha fascinado por el color turquesa de sus aguas, el verde intenso de su vegetación y los flamencos que, por temporadas, la eligen como su hogar.
Me aventuré en este recorrido deseando descubrir nuevas perspectivas más cercanas de la laguna, pues sentía que me lo debía a mí misma y también quería compartir con ustedes las vistas que pudiera capturar, eso era algo que me tenía muy motivada desde que salí de casa.
When I reached the mangrove swamp, I advanced as far as I could. The ground, a mixture of sand and mud, gave way under my footsteps, which limited my progress a bit, but that did not prevent me from taking some pictures.
Al llegar al manglar, avancé tanto como pude. El suelo, una mezcla de arena y fango, cedía bajo mis pisadas, lo que limitó un poco mi avance, pero eso no me impidió tomar algunas fotografías.
On the shore, I observed numerous holes in the ground, at first I was a little worried, until I saw that they were made by small crabs that, upon detecting my presence, ran to hide. In the distance, in that part of the lagoon, I could see some flamingos, although my camera could not fully capture what my eyes were seeing.
En la orilla, observé numerosos agujeros en el suelo, al principio me preocupe un poco, hasta que ví que eran, hechos por pequeños cangrejos que, al detectar mi presencia, corrían a esconderse. A lo lejos, en esa parte de la laguna, pude ver algunos flamencos, aunque mi cámara no logró capturar completamente lo que mis ojos veían.
Closer to the shore, the water became a bit murky, but in the distance, the clarity was greater and its color more intense.
Más cerca de la orilla, el agua se tornaba un poco turbia, pero a lo lejos, la claridad era mayor y su color más intenso.
It was fascinating to see how, from the tangled mangrove swamp, you could make out some of the hotels adjacent to the area.
Fue fascinante ver cómo, desde el enmarañado manglar, se podían divisar algunos de los hoteles adyacentes a la zona.
Careful not to fall, I returned to Caracola Street, where I had parked my car. I took advantage of the fact that the street was still open to vehicles, since they close it at dusk so that pedestrians can exercise safely.
Con cuidado de no caer, regresé a la calle de la Caracola, donde había estacionado mi auto. Aproveché que la calle aún estaba abierta a los vehículos, ya que al caer la tarde la cierran para que los peatones puedan ejercitarse sin peligro.
I continued bordering the lagoon and took Raul Leoni Avenue, stopping right at the place where you could almost completely appreciate the lagoon. That was one of the views I enjoyed the most, as it allowed me to see almost the entire lagoon.
Continué bordeando la laguna y tomé la avenida Raúl Leoni, deteniéndome justo en el lugar donde se podía apreciar casi completamente la laguna. Esa fue una de las vistas que más disfruté, pues permitía abarcar casi en su totalidad.
I continued until I reached the channel that feeds the lagoon; in this part, the water is more turbid, due to the current flowing into it.
Proseguí hasta llegar al canal que alimenta la laguna; en esta parte, el agua es más turbia, debido a la corriente que fluye hacia ella.
A peculiarity of this lagoon is an island where, many years ago, they built a house. Today, there are people living there and they go in and out through a small bridge. It is a pity that my camera does not have enough range to show you that scene, as you deserve. That will remain as a pending task for the future.
Una peculiaridad de esta laguna es una isla donde, hace muchos años, construyeron una casa. Hoy en día, hay personas que viven allí y entran y salen por un pequeño puente. Es una lástima que mi cámara no tenga el alcance suficiente para mostrarles esa escena, como ustedes lo merecen. Eso quedará como una tarea pendiente para el futuro.
