I am very happy to have the opportunity to share with you again.
This time, I will tell you about a discovery I made on a recent visit to Guarame, a charming town belonging to the Antolin del Campo municipality, where I reside. During my tour, I discovered a beautiful church called San Juan Bautista de Guarame, which captured my attention in a special way.

Esta vez, les relataré un descubrimiento que hice en una reciente visita a Guarame, una encantadora localidad perteneciente al municipio Antolín del Campo, donde resido. Durante mi recorrido, descubrí una hermosa iglesia llamada San Juan Bautista de Guarame, que capturó mi atención de manera especial.
On Isla Margarita, each sector has its own church, each with unique characteristics. However, the church of Guarame stands out for its uniqueness, differentiating itself from all those I have seen so far.
Guarame sits on one of the highest hills in the municipality, and its cozy church stands on another small hill adjacent to the main road, visible to all passersby.
The buildings in this municipality follow the Rancho de Chana style, introduced by Chana Uzcátegui. His original designs, based mainly on wood and clay, bring freshness and comfort to the buildings. A kind local named Argenis, whom I met riding his bicycle, shared this information with me and guided me to this beautiful place that I am eager to show you.
En Isla Margarita, cada sector tiene su iglesia, cada una con características únicas. Sin embargo, la iglesia de Guarame se distingue por su singularidad, diferenciándose de todas las que he visto hasta ahora.
Guarame se asienta en uno de los cerros más altos del municipio, y su acogedora iglesia se erige en otro pequeño cerro adyacente a la carretera principal, visible para todos los transeúntes.
Las construcciones en este municipio siguen el estilo del Rancho de Chana, introducido por Chana Uzcátegui. Sus diseños originales, basados principalmente en madera y arcilla, aportan frescura y confort a las edificaciones. Un amable lugareño llamado Argenis, que encontré montando su bicicleta, me compartió esta información y me guió hasta este bello lugar que estoy ansiosa por mostrarles.
The church is located in front of the local bus stop, accessible to those arriving by public transport. It is surrounded by not very high stone walls, which add a rustic and cozy touch.
La iglesia se encuentra frente a la parada local, accesible para quienes llegan en transporte público. Está rodeada por muros de piedra no muy altos, que añaden un toque rústico y acogedor.
As you approach, you will notice an entrance with ceramic steps leading up to its doors. The outside area is extensive, adorned with beautiful trinitarian plants, bushes and cement benches embedded with stones, offering a resting place for parishioners while waiting for the opening of the church, they can appreciate in the distance the landscape with its mixture of colors, the green of nature and the blue of the sea in the distance, it is a great view.
Al aproximarse, se observa una entrada con escalones de cerámica que conducen hasta sus puertas. El área exterior es extensa, adornada con hermosas plantas trinitarias, arbustos y bancos de cemento incrustados con piedras, ofreciendo un lugar de descanso para los feligreses mientras esperan la apertura de la iglesia, pueden apreciar a lo lejos el paisaje con su mezcla de colores el verde de la naturaleza y lo azul del mar a lo lejos, es una vista genial.
The concrete handrails, with ceramic slab details, add an artistic touch to the ensemble. At the top of the steps is a cross, an unusual location since, in most municipal churches, the cross is usually near the bell dome. On this occasion, everything was beautifully beautiful and different.
Los pasamanos de hormigón, con detalles en losa de cerámica, añaden un toque artístico al conjunto. Al finalizar la escalinata, se alza una cruz, ubicación poco común ya que, en la mayoría de las iglesias municipales, la cruz suele estar cerca de la cúpula con campana. En esta ocasión, todo era bellamente hermoso y diferente.
To my surprise, due to the schedule, the doors were closed, and I know it will be months before I can return to this beautiful place. Therefore, I had to be content, for the moment, with admiring the exterior, pending a visit to the interior.
The church has an arched doorway, made of oak wood, flanked by two sturdy wooden pillars embedded in the cement, characteristic of this peculiar construction. Above the door, there is a circular stained glass window that, according to the locals, reflects various colors when the sun shines on it. Other parts of the facade are inlaid with stones, creating a contrast in this beautiful decoration.
Para mi sorpresa, debido al horario, las puertas estaban cerradas, y sé que pasarán meses antes de que pueda regresar a este bello lugar. Por lo tanto, tuve que conformarme, por el momento, con admirar el exterior, quedándome pendiente la visita al interior.
La iglesia posee una puerta en forma de arco, hecha de madera de roble, flanqueada por dos robustos pilares de madera incrustados en el cemento, característicos de esta peculiar construcción. Encima de la puerta, hay un vitral circular que, según el lugareño, refleja varios colores cuando el sol lo ilumina. Otras partes de la fachada están incrustadas con piedras, creando un contraste en esta bella decoración.
The roof, supported by wooden and cement pitchforks, has a high strut that provides freshness to the interior. On the upper part, traditional tiles have been placed.
The construction has wide eaves that surround the entire perimeter, protecting the walls from the direct heat of the sun and helping to keep the interior cool.
El techo, sostenido por horcones de madera y cemento, cuenta con un puntal alto que proporciona frescura al interior. En la parte superior, se han colocado tejas tradicionales.
La construcción cuenta con amplios aleros que rodean todo el perímetro, protegiendo las paredes del calor directo del sol y ayudando a conservar la frescura en el interior.

Que bella iglesia 😍 de verdad me encanto su diseño y es que ese lugar "Guárdame" es un lugar bellísimo, sobretodo por el tipo de construcción de sus viviendas tipo ranchos de chana. A mí me gusta mucho pasar por ahí, por su altura el lugar el fresco. Generalmente pasamos por ahí cuando vamos a playa guacuco que nos encanta. What a beautiful church 😍 I really loved its design and that place "Guard me" is a beautiful place, especially because of the type of construction of its chana ranch-type homes. I really like passing by there, because of its height and the coolness of the place. We generally pass by there when we go to Playa Guacuco, which we love. What an interesting church, I am used to seeing them with colonial constructions because that is what most of my country Cuba is like, but I loved that structure.It is a beauty that combines with the landscape and the circular stained glass window over the door is very unique, I loved it.
