Just gonna be honest, I originally was going to talk my top ten favorite Epitaph records released in the nineties but I was talking for 40 minutes and realized ain’t gonna work. So I edited out rest and did a vlog on just the offspring and there journey from independent record label to selling 10 million albums while still independent!
Then I go into the 4 albums following it and there major label journey. I briefly talk Rancid’s 1995 Out Come The Wolves because it was the only other record on that label to get mainstream love like them playing SNL and being all over MTV. But definitely not as much as Green Day or Offspring. Below I’ll pick four tunes from all the albums discussed as a sample listen. I’ll post two singles then two songs I liked that aren’t singles. One exception will be 1998’s Americana , my fav pick will be the third single “the kids aren’t alright! Enjoy! 🎸

I’m hoping this builds into something similar to ThreeTuneTuesday where we have many people involved! But I gotta start with myself so here we go! Similar to TTT, I will give a basic Income Unit to a post every week. If it’s just me and one other person to start, that's cool but Eventually I hope more will get involved and we can grow it.
Some ideas are music, movies, television, sports, or really anything Nineties related. I assume movie or tv or music topic reviews or talk will be most common, but you could also talk a sports memory or something else. Never was a big fan of the Offspring but I do have a story about the song Come Out And Play that happened in the 90s 😆
I was in Tucson visiting a friend and his girlfriend. We were invited to a house party by one of her friends that was just one of theose guys that had regular house partiesI guess. We get there and it's like any house party; keg in a barrel of ice, liquor bottles littering every surface in the kitchen,and lots of people visiting the bathrooom 🤣
Oh there were people hanging on the roof too. Anyhow, the partyboy that owned the house played music and after a while I heard some live music coming from the other room. My friend says, yeah, this happens. It was not terrible but not great playing either. So I'm sitting on the couch getting faded and partyboy comes wandering out of the back with a cordless electric guitar and a fucking cordless mic-headset (a la Janet Jackson) singing Come Out And Play!
It's not that I hated that song, at the time I was indifferent to it, but the way the guy sauntered around singing that song was just embarrassing. I still remember it like it was yesterday, at one point he leaned with his back against the wall and put one foot up behind himon the wall and I almost barfed xD
