Dios puede transformar nuestra historia. || God can transform our history.

Our God is all powerful, he is the redeemer who transforms us and transforms our stories, our failures transform them into a blessing and a testimony of his transforming grace.

When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all unanimous together. 2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty wind blowing, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting; 3 and cloven tongues appeared to them, like fire, settling on each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them to speak.5 Then there dwelt in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. 6 And when this noise was made, the crowd gathered together; and they were confused, because each one heard them speaking in his own language. 7 And they were astonished and amazed, saying, Behold, are not all these that speak Galileans? 8 How then do we hear them each speaking in our own language in which we were born? 9 Parthians, Medes, Elamites, and we who live in Mesopotamia, in Judea, in Cappadocia, in Pontus and in Asia, 10 in Phrygia and Pamphylia, in Egypt and in the regions of Africa beyond Cyrene, and Romans residing here , both Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretans and Arabs, we hear them speak in our languages the wonders of God.

Acts 2:1-11

We have this text which we associate with the arrival of the Holy Spirit, but it also shows us part of God's promises being fulfilled in favor of his people. This scene of Pentecost can show us the amazing work of God, also remembering in the beginning when all humanity spoke in a single language, and all were one people.

11 Then the whole earth had one language and one word. 2 And it came to pass, when they came out from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they settled there. 3 And they said to one another, Come, let us make brick and bake it with fire. And brick was used instead of stone, and asphalt instead of mortar. 4 And they said, Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower, the top of which will reach to heaven; and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered over the face of the whole earth. 5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men were building. 6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people are one, and all these have one language; and they have begun the work, and nothing will now make them desist from what they have planned to do.

Genesis 11:1-6

After this disorder was unleashed that is to say: at first everything worked in unity but later worship also began, the man after God had said to fill the earth they built a tower to reach God with their own strength and somehow avoid being dispersed: "And they said, Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower, the top of which will reach to heaven; and let us make a name for ourselves, in case we be scattered over the face of the whole earth." And after this God confused his languages and dispersed just as he had ordered, man with all his intervention and his intelligence could not truncate God's plan.

In the case of Pentecost it is opposite to what happened in Babylon, the disciples waited in Jerusalem as they were ordered by the Lord, we find in that fragment that the crowd was wonderful since they heard different languages with a unanimous meaning, this shows the wonders of God: "Cretans and Arabs, we hear them speak in our tongues the wonders of God."

This picture in Jerusalem of unanimous and harmonious praise was a contrast to what had happened at Babel, although the church had been dispersed after this picture, this was taken by the believers as an opportunity to sow the gospel, the dispersion, instead of being a consequence of bad actions, had been an opportunity that God gives him to sow the gospel throughout the earth.

In these paintings we see the blessing of God, the divine plan of God that even when we believe that our life does not have meaning or does not have a direction, God can turn that which seems impossible or that has an unexpected end, God can work completely and totally transform history, on our part all that remains is to place ourselves in its hands with faith.

Cuando llegó el día de Pentecostés, estaban todos unánimes juntos. 2 Y de repente vino del cielo un estruendo como de un viento recio que soplaba, el cual llenó toda la casa donde estaban sentados; 3 y se les aparecieron lenguas repartidas, como de fuego, asentándose sobre cada uno de ellos. 4 Y fueron todos llenos del Espíritu Santo, y comenzaron a hablar en otras lenguas, según el Espíritu les daba que hablasen.5 Moraban entonces en Jerusalén judíos, varones piadosos, de todas las naciones bajo el cielo. 6 Y hecho este estruendo, se juntó la multitud; y estaban confusos, porque cada uno les oía hablar en su propia lengua. 7 Y estaban atónitos y maravillados, diciendo: Mirad, ¿no son galileos todos estos que hablan? 8 ¿Cómo, pues, les oímos nosotros hablar cada uno en nuestra lengua en la que hemos nacido? 9 Partos, medos, elamitas, y los que habitamos en Mesopotamia, en Judea, en Capadocia, en el Ponto y en Asia, 10 en Frigia y Panfilia, en Egipto y en las regiones de África más allá de Cirene, y romanos aquí residentes, tanto judíos como prosélitos, 11 cretenses y árabes, les oímos hablar en nuestras lenguas las maravillas de Dios.

Hechos 2:1-11

Tenemos este texto al cual asociamos a la llegada del espíritu Santo, pero también nos muestra parte de las promesas de Dios dándose en cumplimiento a favor de su pueblo. Esta escena del Pentecostés nos puede mostrar la asombrosa obra de Dios recordando también en el principio cuando toda la humanidad hablaba en un solo lenguaje, y todo era un pueblo.

11 Tenía entonces toda la tierra una sola lengua y unas mismas palabras. 2 Y aconteció que cuando salieron de oriente, hallaron una llanura en la tierra de Sinar, y se establecieron allí. 3 Y se dijeron unos a otros: Vamos, hagamos ladrillo y cozámoslo con fuego. Y les sirvió el ladrillo en lugar de piedra, y el asfalto en lugar de mezcla. 4 Y dijeron: Vamos, edifiquémonos una ciudad y una torre, cuya cúspide llegue al cielo; y hagámonos un nombre, por si fuéremos esparcidos sobre la faz de toda la tierra. 5 Y descendió Jehová para ver la ciudad y la torre que edificaban los hijos de los hombres. 6 Y dijo Jehová: He aquí el pueblo es uno, y todos estos tienen un solo lenguaje; y han comenzado la obra, y nada les hará desistir ahora de lo que han pensado hacer.

Génesis 11:1-6

Después de esto se desencadenó el desorden es decir: en un principio todo funcionaba en unidad pero posteriormente comenzó la adoración asimismo, el hombre después de qué Dios había dicho que llenaran la tierra construyeron una torre para llegar a Dios con sus propias fuerzas y de alguna manera evitar dispersarse: "Y dijeron: Vamos, edifiquémonos una ciudad y una torre, cuya cúspide llegue al cielo; y hagámonos un nombre, por si fuéremos esparcidos sobre la faz de toda la tierra". Y después de esto Dios confundió sus lenguas y se dispersó tal como él había ordenado, el hombre con toda su intervención y su inteligencia no pudo truncar el plan de Dios.

En el caso de Pentecostés es opuesto a lo que sucedió en Babilonia, los discípulos esperaron en Jerusalén tal cual se les ordenó por parte del señor, encontramos en ese fragmento que la multitud estaba maravillosa ya que oían diferentes lenguas con un significado unánime, esto muestra las maravillas de Dios: "cretenses y árabes, les oímos hablar en nuestras lenguas las maravillas de Dios."

Este cuadro en Jerusalén acerca de la alabanza unánime y armoniosa hizo un contraste de lo que había sucedido en Babel, aunque la iglesia había sido dispersa después de este cuadro, esto fue tomado por parte de los creyentes como una oportunidad para sembrar el evangelio, la dispersión en lugar de ser una consecuencia de las malas acciones había sido una oportunidad que Dios le da para sembrar el evangelio por toda la tierra.

En estos cuadros vemos la bendición de Dios, el plan divino de Dios que aún cuando creemos que nuestra vida no tiene sentido o no tiene un rumbo, Dios puede tornar aquello que parece imposible o que tiene un fin inesperado, Dios puede obrar por completo y transformar totalmente la historia, de nuestra parte sólo resta depositarnos en sus manos con fe.
