Grafton parkrun is actually at a place called Junction Hill. Barnier Park Recreation Reverse area to be precise. Being an avid parkrun tourist always takes us to places and has us meeting people we never would have other wise. Nowadays this parkrun would have been named after the park which it is situated in but as this one was formed back in 2015 it is named after the city it was in. Confusion arose when city's started to get more than one parkrun. The only problem with the new naming system is no one really knows where your taking about but everyone knows the cities. I like the older small country parkruns everything seems easier and simple at them.
The start line was a ten minute drive from our accommodation near the middle of Grafton central business district.
First up I like to do a bit of a jog around and warm up. I thought this train line might be abandoned but as I jogged across I could see a light in the distance.
and it was not long before this super long coal train passed by.
The cows must have thought I was strange or maybe hoping I would feed them.
Within the recessional area was a the heritage listed Wagner's family pioneers cottage.
After my warm up a bit of a crowd was starting to build. The start and finish line was at the athletic fields long jump pit.

So the Grafton parkrun starts and finishes at the long jump pit, 2 laps of a half grass and path course with a decent hill at the far end. I just took it easy for this one, still getting over a knee strain and completed the 5 kilometre course in 32 minutes 13 seconds. The red line is me running slow and the blue a little faster. This was there event number 356 and I finished 41st out of 81 runners and walkers, thanks for visiting.
