Hoje quero aqui partilhar um trabalho de um artista português de seu nome Ricardo Romero. Nascido em 1981, em Évora, autodidata por natureza desde 1994, onde assumiu o pseudónimo de "Ship", com o qual começou a explorar as suas potencialidades de pintura de murais, nas diferentes perspectivas plásticas. Actualmente vive e mora em Leiria, uma cidade do centro de Portugal.
Desde cedo adoptou uma postura educativa e pedagógica, usando a arte de rua e o graffiti como um verdadeiro instrumento facilitador e catalisador para o relacionamento com os jovens e com as crianças.
Responsável por numerosos workshops e oficinas de experimentação e criação artística, a sua vida artística apresenta uma forte influência das linguagens artísticas urbanas, abrangendo e cobrindo vários tipos de trabalhos e expressões artísticas, como a pintura, vídeo, fotografia ou escultura.
Curador e principal produtor de diversos projectos de arte pública incluindo o projecto de intervenção social "Projecto Matilha", bem como a direcção da galeria e estúdio "M Gallery & Studio" em Leiria. (fonte)
Vou agora falar-vos um pouco do Projecto Matilha. Projecto que pretende promover o conhecimento e a mudança de atitudes acerca da forma como é tratado o "melhor amigo do Homem". Podem ser abandonados e maltratados, ou por outro lado amados e bem cuidados, a sua imagem é retida em um particular momento, um clique, uma breve fracção da sua existência, sendo então essa imagem desconstruída, para ser montada e reconstruída de novo, juntando as linhas, curvas e tons, com um fundo ou elemento adicional, para ser então materializada em uma obra de arte, uma imagem, um pensamento que é de certa forma imortalizado nas ruas, onde pode ser admirado e visto por quem passa.
Today I want to share a work by a Portuguese artist called Ricardo Romero. Born in 1981 in Évora, he has been self-taught by nature since 1994, when he took on the pseudonym "Ship", with which he began to explore his potential for painting murals from different plastic perspectives. He currently lives in Leiria, a city in central Portugal.
Adopted an educational and pedagogical stance from an early age, using street art and graffiti as a real facilitator and catalyst for relationships with young people and children.
Responsible for numerous workshops and workshops for experimentation and artistic creation, his artistic life shows a strong influence of urban artistic languages, encompassing and covering various types of work and artistic expressions, such as painting, video, photography or sculpture.

I'm now going to tell you a bit about the "Matilha" project. This project aims to promote knowledge and change attitudes about the way "man's best friend" is treated. They can be abandoned and mistreated, or on the other hand loved and well cared for, their image is retained in a particular moment, a click, a brief fraction of their existence, and then that image is deconstructed, to be assembled and reconstructed again, joining the lines, curves and tones, with a background or additional element, to be then materialized in a work of art, an image, a thought that is somehow immortalized in the streets, where it can be admired and seen by passers-by.
