Where Hivers Dean, Sean and Pean meet

If we were to name a place where Hivers meet most frequently, I'm pretty sure Brewsome Coffee would top the list this week.

This week I met two different Hivers who were visiting my city in Taiwan. I needed to find somewhere convenient near to public transport, and Brewsome Coffee came up with very high ratings.

The downstairs area only has two small tables to sit four people, and both times I sat upstairs. They also have another upper floor but was closed on both my visits. There was a big colourful poster on the wall. I think it's something to do with coffee flavours, but unfortunately I didn't get a chance to study it in detail. Too busy meeting Hivers, that's much more important!!

I'll show you a bit more of the café below and seating area, perfect for chit chat, and my meet up with two very good virtual turn real life friends.

Dean aka @deanliu is the Hiver I have met the most times and I know from my very very early days on the chain. Actually we already met up a few weeks ago when I came back to Taiwan. He was visiting my city this weekend and we arranged to meet up again. I think you can never have too many meet ups, and we always have plenty to talk about, both about Hive and in life in general. This time Dean bought this son TT along, I've read about TT in Dean's post since he was five or six when I first joined Steem and now I get to see him in person. Makes me feel so old!

Dean is anon on Hive. For those who know him on Hive and want to see what he looks like, the nearest you'll get is his coffe from our meeting and a glimpse of his glasses 😂 !! That said, I do have a photo of him now. The photo in possession is not the main point. The main point is the trust you build up with people, that you earn over time from someone who value their privacy and anonymity. And I truly appreciate the trust placed in me. Friends of Dean who want to see him, just make me an offer 🤣🤑🤑

Sean aka @whangster79 is my partner in crime in the Worklife Community we created a few months ago. There are not that many Hivers from Taiwan, so it's always nice to see a new one join. He joined after the split and has been active on and off. This is the first time we've met IRL and we had so much to talk about that the afternoon flew be so quick. Sean isn't actually Taiwanese, he's American Korean but has been in Taiwan for a few years hence the cheesy pose ✌️😂

He was really sweet and bought me a little present he 3D printed himself. It's a fidgety thing that has no practical purpose but is extremely addictive. The 'thing' has six interlocked rings which you can flip round and round and round. I showed it to hubby afterwards and he was really impressed with it as he's toying with the idea to buy a 3D printer. Then he took it and started playing with it when we were chatting. I'll have to make sure he doesn't steal it from me !!

Originally I was hoping to kill two birds with one stone meet Dean and Sean at the same time as they're both based in Taiwan and are committed to the long term development and longevity of Hive. The three of us are very aligned with this vision. Unfortunately our stars didn't align this week, so please consider this your introductions Dean and Sean, from Pean (I figured I'd join the EAN club 😂 ) and hope you guys can meet up sometime.

Awesome, cool to see you meeting up with the Whangster! That was nice that he brought you a cool gift.

Yes, it was really sweet of him, a very useless but addictive little gadget 😄

That's cool that you are able to meet up with people like that. I have been close to meeting a couple of people, but we were busy with our own stuff even though we were in the same city. Maybe next time. It looks like you had a really great time!

It's always a bit difficult when we all have stuff going on IRL, but seriously, it's really worth making the effort, it makes all the difference to enhancing the whole Hive experience which you can't during chats.

Yeah, I am hoping I can do something at some point here in the future!

Do it!!!! 👊

The menu is interesting to me. Is it common to translate everything to English like that in Taiwan, or was that just this coffee shop? Anyway looks like a nice place to hang out for awhile. Great that you could meet some fellow Hivers there for awhile

That looks like an interesting toy. Like your husband, I've been thinking about buying a 3d printer... I don't think I have any need for it at all, and that practicality has so far prevented me from buying one. But... I want one!

Is that a guy's thing? It has no practical use, but I want one 😄 I had to make sure I kept whangster away from hubby because I'm sure he would be a bad influence and accelerator his decision (says the wife)

On the menu, now you mention it.... I never actually noticed it, maybe I just take it for granted when I see an English translation. Now thinking back, I think it depends on the clientele. Local restaurants wouldn't unless they are quite big or expect foreigners or tourists. Some cafes do for the same reason, and maybe to add to the vibe that it's quite an international place.

haha yeah it's probably a guy thing. We get excited easily especially if it's a tech thing. We are still boys at heart (I say as I look around the room at all the junk/toys my kids collect). Women tend to have a bit more self-control.

It's so sweet of you to say that, as most husbands will say their wife have no control over how many pairs of shoes or handbags they buy 😂

I said women tend to have more self-control, not that they always do 😜

Its absolutely amazing how we first met in the Hive community and once said "It would be pretty cool to see you in Taiwan oneday."

And today was the day it actually happened in real life... face to face... in the flesh. @livinguktaiwan is exactly true to her personality as she is on Hive as well as in reality. There was so much to talk about, and so much synergy discussing about Hive.

It's one thing to chat about Hive online... but face to face the hive engagement experience evolves to a whole new dimension.

I encourage everyone to do so as well whenever possible. Its "engagement" at its finest form.

Thank you @livinguktaiwan for making time for our meetup today! Proud Hiver luvs!!

I think real life meet up is the best part of Hive, to take engagement and friendship to the next level.

Thanks for making the trip over @whangster79 really appreciated it, and enjoyed our chat over bits and pieces.

I think I'll have to keep you away from hubby, don't want him to end up with 3 3D printers at home like you. You're a bad influence!!!! 😁

Lolz~ 3D printing can bring a man to a rabbit hole of its own. :)

Likewise, I had a lot of fun chatting than eating or drinking coffee. Start of a lifelong friendship journey has begun~ and its just the beginning of it all. hehehehe. cheers!!

Very cool to meet up with other hivers 😎
The coffee shop does look cute.
Have a great week 👋🏻😊

Thanks Jackie, meeting other Hivers is always a lovely experience

I can imagine… one day I will meet up with others too 🤓😁
Just have to be in the right place at the right time… hehehe 🤭

I wonder if there are Filipino Hiveans here in Hong Kong too. I wanna meet them hehe... Now I'll visit these users..
!LADY
After visiting their accounts, I am actually familiar with @whangster79 profile hehe.

You have already used the number of tips you had for the day. Please try again tomorrow or buy more LOH tokens to send more tips.

Maybe you can start a community and invite your friends in HK to join Hive? You're doing so well, you would set the perfect example for newbies

I did try to convince some Filipinas here..but they prefer FB reels over Hive 😂.. I'm still trying to invite some as this could truly help them

 last year

It's a wonderful feeling if we can meet up with one of our Hive friends.

Are there many Hivers in your city? It would be nice to link up with them

 last year (edited)

I think few only mam. But still It would be nice if we can meet them soon. That's what I loved too. Hoping we can meet each and other soon.

Thats really awesome. Whangster is a top drawer creator and obviously really interesting guy and Deanliu is one of those folks who've been around since the beginning of time, and whose posts make Google translate break out in a cold sweat!
Nice to see all is going well :-)

I'm really lucky to meet these two awesome guys IRL, they both contribute a lot to Hive in their own ways, and most important of all, I know they both care a lot about the future of Hive, we need more people like them who hold a long term vision here

This is one cool post, Pauline :)

One of the first thing I read this morning and brought me serious joy. This is a reminder for me why I am here, and do what I do here. Makes everything worth it.

Meeting the guys was always on my agenda coming back to Taiwan. It's so great to see that regardless of how long one has been on the chain, OG or newish, people hold the same vision for Hive and that's what makes this such a great place.

Glad that I bought a bit of sunshine to start your day!!

Awww... I want to meet you in this cafe too!!! It's a pitty is so far...

Actually, I'm so glad we managed to meet up once in Chiang Mai, that was an awesome place to chose

Awesome! Coffee is life :) from it springout good friendship haha. We would like to join that EAN club too because sure it's fantastic!

Though I'm lost on how to pronounce Pean 😁

For a moment I thought you were going to show only Sean's glasses. And yes, the ean club you're going to have to put together soon hahaha.

The weird thing that one if it spins is de-stressing. There are some devices with wheels that you rub it on your back and it's like massage, see if that's the same. hahaha..... Brewsome Coffee is cool.

😄

The little gadget doesn't spin, you just turn it inside and the purple and black rings swap position. Thats a very good idea, maybe it will work as a nice little massager, I'm going to try that!!

😃 eureka

Ah that is so cool to meet these guys in person!

Absolutely, we both know what a great experience that is Sara 😊

I love the atmosphere. You two both look so happy about the meet-up Maam. It's great to see inspiring Hive individuals meeting up. Hive is really amazing.😍

I think you guys in Philippines have organised quite a few meetups as well, have you joined any of them?

Ah yes ma'am, but I haven't joined one yet, it usually happens in the capital or in the city. Hopefully, a meet-up will soon be organized near my province.😊 I'm excited to meet other Hivers too.😍

It's a fidgety thing that has no practical purpose but is extremely addictive

That looks brilliant, better than a stress ball. Looks like a nice quiet spot to hang out

But!!! WTF is that thing on a stick hovering over the iced coffee??

It's a pickled plum. The coffee was coffee mixed with plum wine. That's why. 😄

wow, that's an interesting combination I must say.

Nice, Pean. 😂

Great seeing you again and meeting TT for the first time, seeing a "virtual" kid grow up on the chain is pretty amazing 🙂

Wow meeting two hivers dean and Sean for sure is a blast. I haven't experienced meeting someone from hive ever since. I don't know if I am really alone here in our place or province but I know some from other cities. Hopefully I can meet some of them too.

I see Team PH does quite a lot of meetups, hopefully you can join them one day

Yes, they planned to have another meet up this April if I'm not mistaken but I am an island away from them. How I wish to meet them too someday.

The place is amazing, as is the meeting between Hivers!

The meetings were very nice, I'm so please I got to meet two in a week

That looked like a pretty nice coffee shop !!! Glad you got to meet a hive friend !!! Thats pretty cool !

it would be nice to meet you one day, hopefully there will be more meetups in UK this year

Aye - that would be great. I have to say I'm well due for attending a HIVE meet-up !

Pean 😂😂

I love your humour. I've still only met one RL hiver and he left Hive! Was it me???

Absolutely, please don't go out to meet anymore Hivers, or if you must, please meet the scammers only 😜

I would love to see such menu 😋 at local restaurant.

Congratulations to both of you that you finally meet, looks so much fun. Brewsome Coffee offer a very cool drink for costumers to choose from. That is perfect for passenger who are looking for cold drinks while the weather is hot.

Thanks, it's a very nice café, no wonder it has good reviews
