[ESP/ENG] Historias que capturan tu corazón: una reseña de una serie – Stories that capture your heart: a review of a series

in DClub2 years ago

Hello friends and dear readers, today I bring you a review of a series that you may not know and may be interested in watching. I don't usually watch series that are not recommended to me, but sometimes a trailer appears, or an interesting cover, and I decide to give them a chance. Sometimes it turns out really well and I discover a raw treasure. This happened to me about two weeks ago with a Netflix series, called Virgin River or A Place to Dream.

I had never heard of it, but its cover appeared many times in the beginning, and one day I decided to watch it. From its beginning it already grabbed me, with the narration, the main character and using the past present element in a way that keeps you in mystery until it tells you everything. Only it does it little by little, making sense with the present.
Virgin River, tells the story of Mel Monroe, a young nurse and midwife from Los Angeles, who decides to take a one year position as a nurse practitioner in a small town in the mountains, to get a fresh start, only in that small town she will find much more than an escape, she will find a home.

Mel has a hard and sad past, and decides to give it a try, despite the problems with the family doctor she will work with, the town and more. She will meet amazing people, especially she will befriend a man with a tough past, but a tender heart.

A Place to Dream, has three seasons of 10 episodes each, and will introduce you to several secondary characters that you will like, as well as hate at times:
Jack, Hope, Preacher, Charmaine, Brady, Brady, Paige, Lilly, Mark, Joey, and the Doc. Characters who are sometimes heroes and sometimes villains. Sometimes you can't stand them and sometimes you feel tenderness or compassion, but in real life we are all like that, we can be heroes or villains depending on the story and the narrator.

Now, I tell you that A Place to Dream, is an adaptation of a huge saga of books, which has at least 25 books published so far and they are by Robyn Carr. And I've made it a point to read them all, before the 4th season comes out in May. If you like a series with lots of drama, and romance, this is the series for you.
I highly recommend it, you won't want to stop until you finish it and you'll want more. I hope you liked my review and you can come and watch this hidden gem among thousands of cliché teenagers and modern series. Because Virgin River, focuses on small town life: fishing, picnics, camping, cabins, card games, crocheting, festivals and more. Where you feel that, in that town, technology does not predominate, but social contact. And solidarity and union. Like a big family without blood ties, only love and support.
Thank you for reading, voting and commenting, I appreciate the support and I hope I have contributed to see something out of the ordinary.
