Mushroom bounty in Bomaderry Creek : May 9 2024

in Actifit22 days ago (edited)

A better night as the body gets on top of the cold. It is a cloudy day and the rain is forecast to build from the afternoon. Dud the investing stuff and headed out to Nowra to do some shopping essentials in case we get flooded in.

Chose to walk a track in North Nowra better know for summer orchids but at least a known track somewhat open. Track is up above Bomadery Creek - wet and lots of mushrooms

Type 2 - a lot more to come. I did mention wet. This path was a walking track which got more use by buses during covid - put some rain down and it is a creek

Just able to walk the edges to keep feet dry

Type 3 mushroom - they like the wet

A cluster of mini mushrooms

Maybe time to learn about these - 5th type

Can see the water flow in this track creek - and a little blue reflecting from above. Patches on blue there were

Pine leafed geebung - surprised to see these still flowering

Autumn is spider time. This obe was spinning the centre of the web

A crusty type 6

Wattle flower

Big open area where the kids do their track bike spinning - a big puddle now and some fine reflections

NSW coral heath flower and a few raindrops

A few pea flowers opening up - raindrop too

Side on view - great colours

Lambertia formosa - a little pale

Type 8 mushroom

Fungus shaping up

Slender rice flower a little worse for wear from the rain

3 peas in a pod came to mind for these pea flowers

Banksia flower and raindrops

Maybe the same as type 7 - or is it 8?

Type 9

Hard to tell what this mushroom is as it is still a known and has not opened out

10th different type - quite a bit bigger

Big enough to get underneath for the underside photo of the vanes

These were the size of dinner plates

Underside photo from the underside. I do not know enough about mushrooms to know which are edible. Would need to walk with an expert to take any chances

Yellowish banksia flower - leaf is same as the one before but the colouring is quite different

Location shot - sign is getting a bit rotten in bottom left cornet

Walked the edge of the road back to the car rather than wading through the track creeks - type 10 mushroom

Coral fungus. Do know these are very poisonous

Not seen one like this - was well off track but the red got my eye

Last one for the day also off track.

Not often does a work get no orchids - not even a leaf. But the mushroons made their show and it did not rain

Good to be out - 4th day with a no rain walk.

Watched some Affiliate Marketing training on a new product called Affiliate Takeover - got some new ideas and made progress on a bonus page

Went across to friends for dinner. Plan is steak barbecue - I brought the potatoes and sausages and salad. They supplied the steak.

I did the barbecue. Came out well

Was good to have someone to talk to.

Watched Thursday night footy. Was hard last quarter to watch but my team - Carlton - hung in for a grungy win.

Stayed up for market open. Tried a few options trades in uranium - not hit on any. Was a 2 am end of day. Thinking is yo get a train to Sydney tomorrow - got stuff to do. 2am is not the way to prepare for that

Sort:

What a splendid walk through the wet forest with so many flowers and mushrooms or growth of fungi along the way.

It is mushroom season - probably 15 to 20 different types seen. Was good to be walking - we have had some much rain. And it is pouring again and forecast to dump 200mm in the next two days

We hoping for some rain at the moment, cooler today after scorcher yesterday, time will tell! Enjoy the walks when the rains have cleared, take care.

11.3k actifit activity report is very good and so beautiful photography
