On a cloudy morning - My Actifit Report Card: May 16 2024

Hi my loving Actifiters,

How are you guys? I hope you are all having a lovely and peaceful week. A few days later I got the opportunity to enter this beautiful stage because of some activities done on a rainy day. I could not reach my relative's house for a long time because I was busy with my duties. But this morning, although it was a little dark, the rain did not fall, so an opportunity was created for that trip. My daughter also joined this trip because of school holidays. My relatives live in a village a little far from the city. The destination was only 42 kilometers away from our house.

After an hour and a half journey, we reached our destination. They were very happy because we went there after a long time. They started entertaining us with food and drinks. The village is a bright green village full of paddy fields and small mountain ranges. Walking in such beautiful villages is a beautiful experience. These days, paddy fields in some areas have been prepared for paddy cultivation. It has been a practice since then to prepare the muddy ground by machines or by cattle. A successful rice harvest is the hope of any farmer. It was very fortunate to see a temple in a small forest area at the edge of paddy fields. The glowing white stupa indicates the presence of a temple.

After staying at the relative's house for more than two hours, it started to rain a little while returning to the city. Ambalangoda town was not busy because of the rain. Shops etc. were open but people did not seem to be around. If you tell how busy Ambalangoda is on a normal day, it takes more than half an hour to drive a distance of just one kilometer. However, it is possible to buy anything in this city. It is an advantage for any person.

On the way to Hikkaduwa passing through Ambalangoda town, I stopped at Akurala beach because of my daughter's insistence. Due to the melting of the icebergs due to the increase in global temperature, the beaches have become a bit peaceful in a background where the coastal region has become wild these days. My daughter is more interested in surfing and collecting shells on the beach. That's why Akurala Beach was reserved for over an hour of walking. By that time, the rain had stopped, so we were able to make our work more successful. Due to high waves, there were not many people on the busy Akurala beach. Unfortunately, non-biodegradable items are scattered among the mangroves on this beach. As recreationists, we should not destroy the environment and take maximum measures to preserve it.
