A true live story with a smile
Here we go, Sunday evening, on the way to a party, but we are not 100% happy with the birthday present - we have to add a little extra. The special touch to make our friend smile and a bot more attached to the present.
Sure, that tree needs a name!
Even better, add a story to take care...
A name for a tree??
So, between getting dressed up, while other family members still have a shower, I had to search for a name for a small olive tree.
After many stupid ideas, I came to a more crazy idea - Play with the name.
Here you see my result for that tree. Combine history, music, and fun to give the tree and the new owner some extra motivation aka power for the plant.

The care instruction story
Olivia Newton-John has an incredible voice and a knack for plant care. Her little olive tree, lovingly named "Oli," thrives thanks to her devoted care and a touch of musical magic.
Every morning, Olivia greets her Oli with a cheerful "Good Morning Sunshine" making sure he stands in a sunny spot. Olive trees love lots of light, and Olivia's sun-drenched living room is perfect for that. She rotates the pot regularly so all sides of the tree get equal sunlight.
When watering, Olivia is careful not to overdo it. Singing "Let's Get Physical," she checks the soil with her finger. The top layer should be dry before watering again, as waterlogging can damage the roots. In summer, she waters more often, while in winter, she is more sparing.
Olivia knows that olive trees need nutrient-rich soil to stay healthy. So, during the growing season from spring to fall, she fertilizes Oli about every two weeks with a special liquid fertilizer for Mediterranean plants. While fertilizing, she often hums "Magic" to give her tree some extra motivation.
Another important aspect of care is pruning. In spring, Olivia lightly trims Oli to give him a nice shape and promote new growth. During this, she often listens to "Hopelessly Devoted to You," treating each cut with care and dedication.
In winter, Olivia ensures Oli is not in a draft and that temperatures don't drop below 41°F (5°C). She brings him inside, where it's cozy and warm, accompanied by soft music from Olivia's albums, creating a calming atmosphere.
Additionally, Olivia keeps an eye out for pests. She regularly checks the leaves and trunk for signs of disease or infestation. With "Physical" playing gently in the background, she carefully removes small insects from the leaves and uses natural pest control methods when needed.
Through this loving care and musical accompaniment, Olivia's little olive tree thrives and is a living testament to the wonders of a mix of sunshine, water, nutrients, and a bit of music.

Olivia Newton-John hat nicht nur eine unglaubliche Stimme, sondern auch ein Händchen für die Pflege von Pflanzen. Ihr kleiner Olivenbaum, liebevoll „Oli“, wächst und gedeiht prächtig dank ihrer hingebungsvollen Pflege und einem Hauch von musikalischer Magie.
Jeden Morgen begrüßt Olivia ihren Oli mit einem fröhlichen „Good Morning Sunshine“ und sorgt dafür, dass er an einem sonnigen Ort steht. Olivenbäume lieben viel Licht, und Olivias sonnendurch-flutetes Wohnzimmer ist perfekt dafür. Sie dreht den Topf regel-mäßig, damit alle Seiten des Baumes gleichmäßig Sonnenlicht abbekommen.
Beim Gießen achtet Olivia darauf, dass Oli nicht zu viel Wasser bekommt. „Let's Get Physical“ singend, prüft sie die Erde mit ihrem Finger. Die obere Schicht sollte trocken sein, bevor wieder gegossen wird, denn Staunässe kann die Wurzeln schädigen. In den Sommermonaten gießt sie häufiger, während sie im Winter sparsamer damit umgeht.
Olivia weiß, dass Olivenbäume nährstoffreiche Erde brauchen, um gesund zu bleiben. Deshalb düngt sie Oli während der Wachstumsperiode von Frühling bis Herbst etwa alle zwei Wochen mit einem speziellen Flüssigdünger für mediterrane Pflanzen. Beim Düngen summt sie oft „Magic“, um ihren Baum zusätzlich zu motivieren.
Ein weiterer wichtiger Aspekt der Pflege ist der Schnitt. Olivia schneidet Oli im Frühjahr leicht zurück, um ihm eine schöne Form zu geben und das Wachstum neuer Triebe zu fördern. Dabei hört sie oft „Hopelessly Devoted to You“, denn jede Schnittstelle wird mit Sorgfalt und Hingabe behandelt.
Im Winter sorgt Olivia dafür, dass Oli nicht in kalter Zugluft steht und die Temperaturen nicht unter 5 Grad Celsius fallen. Sie bringt ihn dann ins Haus, wo er es kuschelig warm hat, begleitet von leiser Musik von Olivias Alben, die für eine beruhigende Atmosphäre sorgen.
Zusätzlich achtet Olivia auf Schädlinge. Regelmäßig untersucht sie die Blätter und den Stamm auf Anzeichen von Krankheiten oder Schädlingsbefall. Mit einem sanften „Physical“ im Hintergrund entfernt sie kleine Insekten vorsichtig von den Blättern und nutzt bei Bedarf natürliche Schädlingsbekämpfungsmittel.
Durch diese liebevolle Pflege und die musikalische Begleitung gedeiht Olivias kleiner Olivenbaum prächtig und ist ein lebendiger Beweis dafür, dass eine Mischung aus Sonnenschein, Wasser, Nährstoffen und ein bisschen Musik Wunder bewirken kann.
Result / Ergebnis
The gift was of course particularly well received with the story and was my highlight of the evening. Whenever I see "Olivia", I have to smile and hope that this joy is passed on to the new owner. So caring for the tree with music and a laugh certainly becomes a little ceremony.
Das Geschenk wurde mit der Story natürlich besonders gut angenommen und war mein Highlight des Abends. Immer wenn ich "Olivia" sehe, muss ich schmunzeln und hoffe das diese Freude auf den neuen Besitzer übergeht. So weird die Pflege des Baumes mit Music und einem Lachen sicher zu einer kleinen Zeremonie.

Olivia Newton-John, (born 26 September 1948 in Cambridge, England) is an English-born actress raised between England and Australia. She is a four-time Grammy award winner who has amassed five No. 1 and ten other Top Ten Billboard Hot 100 singles and two No. 1 Billboard 200 solo albums. A fascinating true live story that highlights the special connection that can exist between a person and a plant. So much care and attention should feel reciprocated with that satisfaction we get to experience through moments like these. In my case, I also love plants and I even usually sing to them while I am near them, but if there are experiences there are more impactful and exciting like these, which also shows the kind of people we are from our inner being 😊👏👏👏👏👏👏
