Hola amigos || Hello friends
Y una vez más compartiendo con ustedes en esta increíble y divertida iniciativa del amigo @ablaze la cual sigue y sigue sumando semanas. La música es un arte que debemos compartir en cualquier momento del día y de nuestra vida. En general, esta ha sido una iniciativa que me ha regalado buenos momentos sobre todo porque me ha sido bastante emotivo recordar viejas canciones o presentar nuevos artistas.
And once again sharing with you in this incredible and fun initiative of our friend @ablaze which continues and continues adding weeks. Music is an art that we should share at any time of the day and of our lives. In general, this has been an initiative that has given me good moments especially because it has been quite emotional to remember old songs or introduce new artists.
En esta ocasión seguimos en aquellos años donde el rock ganaba tanto terreno que parecía imposible bajarlo de dónde se encontraba. Como saben, siempre me ha gustado este estilo de música aunque hoy en día, suelo escuchar muchos más géneros que antes pero aun así, sigo más inclinado al rock o sus semejantes. Y es qué sigo considerando el rock como una de las artes musicales más importantes de la industria.
This time we are still in those years where rock was gaining so much ground that it seemed impossible to bring it down from where it was. As you know, I have always liked this style of music although nowadays, I tend to listen to many more genres than before but even so, I am still more inclined to rock or similar. I still consider rock as one of the most important musical arts in the industry.
Una vez más vamos a recorrer este estilo de vida. Nos iremos un poco más al pasado, en aquellos tiempos donde el rock era el arma más poderosa para expresar las injusticias de muchos gobernantes o decisiones de los mismos. Clásicos que nos harán viajar a un pasado que hoy es considerado historia. Sí, hay libros que hablan del rock, su legado, sus artistas y canciones. Y aunque esto en sí, no es un libro lo que leerán, de seguro se sentirán tan cerca de ese pasado que ni recordarán que estamos en el 2024.
Once again we are going to go through this lifestyle. We will go a little further into the past, in those times where rock was the most powerful weapon to express the injustices of many rulers or decisions of the same. Classics that will make us travel to a past that today is considered history. Yes, there are books that talk about rock, its legacy, its artists and songs. And although this in itself is not a book what you will read, you will surely feel so close to that past that you will not even remember that we are in 2024.
En la historia han existido miles de armas y muchos países luchan entre ellos mismo para construir y descubrir nuevas armas olvidándose que tenemos a disposición un arte que nos acompaña en cualquier tipo de lucha, situaciones y emociones. Es cierto que el rock lo han descrito como un género bastante expresivo. Esto ha hecho que famoso y no tan famosos intérpretes, han realizado de manera simbólica protestas políticas cuestionando las estructuras sociales autoritarias. En la historia del rock son muchas las canciones que se han realizado en contra de muchas cosas, por ejemplo, las guerras. En especial, la de Vietnam. Muchas de estas canciones han recolectado millones de fondos que fueron dirigidos a la ayuda humanitaria en medio de una Guerra Fría.
In history there have been thousands of weapons and many countries fight among themselves to build and discover new weapons forgetting that we have at our disposal an art that accompanies us in any kind of struggle, situations and emotions. It is true that rock has been described as a very expressive genre. This has made famous and not so famous performers, have made symbolic political protests questioning the authoritarian social structures. In the history of rock there are many songs that have been performed against many things, for example, wars. Especially the Vietnam War. Many of these songs have collected millions of funds that were directed to humanitarian aid in the middle of a Cold War.
Artistas como Bob Dylan que retó y transformó profundamente las convenciones artísticas de su tiempo. O el gran Bruce Sprinsteeng, quien con sus letras hacían una crítica a la sociedad americana y a su “sueño americano” a ellos se unieron muchos otros que optaron por adoptar el rock como un estilo de vida. Ser aquellos superhéroes que necesitábamos en los escenarios para expresar mundialmente este maravilloso y estupendo arte.
Artists like Bob Dylan who challenged and profoundly transformed the artistic conventions of his time. Or the great Bruce Sprinsteeng, who with his lyrics criticized American society and its “American dream” and was joined by many others who chose to adopt rock as a way of life. To be those superheroes we needed on stage to express worldwide this wonderful and stupendous art.
Empecemos a recordar estos grandes clásicos del rock y por qué no con el conocido como el Profeta de su generación, el gran Bob Dylan y su ¨The times they are a changin¨ Esta canción se convirtió en un reflejo de lo que sentía una juventud frustrada ante las injusticias cometidas por sus arcaicos gobernantes y la tremenda discriminación que sufrían las personas de color. Gracias a Dios, esta discriminación ha bajado muchísimo. No sé si por la música, pero considero que como sociedad, hemos madurado. Escuchemos esta hermosísima canción del gran Bob Dylan
Let's start remembering these great rock classics and why not with the one known as the Prophet of his generation, the great Bob Dylan and his ¨The times they are a changin¨ This song became a reflection of what a frustrated youth felt before the injustices committed by their archaic rulers and the tremendous discrimination suffered by people of color. Thank God, this discrimination has gone down a lot. I don't know if it is because of the music, but I believe that as a society, we have matured. Este otro gran artista del rock lo logré conocer gracias a mi tío. Como recordaran él fue una pieza clave musicalmente en mis influencias musicales. Bueno, esta canción era muy sonada por mí tio y recuerdo que la cantaba con todo orgullo. Esta canción expresa una fuerte critica por el maltrato de aquellos soldados veteranos que regresaban a América. Gran canción con una gran energía. Escuchemos…
I got to know this other great rock artist thanks to my uncle. As you may remember he was a key piece musically in my musical influences. Well, this song was very popular with my uncle and I remember him singing it with pride. This song expresses a strong criticism of the mistreatment of those veteran soldiers returning to America. Great song with great energy. Let's hear it...
Y vamos a cerrar esta interesante historia de lucha con una de las bandas estadounidense más reconocidas por sus fuertes expresiones musicales. Los grandes de Rage Against The Machine. Una banda sin pelo en la lengua como dicen en mi país. Esta es una canción dedicada a toda esa gente que sigue a ciegas un liderazgo equivocado. A aquellas personas que han perdido su pensamiento crítico y su autonomía. Escuchemos este gran clásico de la banda estadounidense.
And let's close this interesting story of struggle with one of the most recognized American bands for their strong musical expressions. The greats of Rage Against The Machine. A band without hair on their tongue as they say in my country. This is a song dedicated to all those people who blindly follow a wrong leadership. To those people who have lost their critical thinking and autonomy. Let's listen to this great classic of the American band.

Great selection! I've never been a Dylan fan, but Springsteen and Rage against the machine are more my style.

Excelente reseña amigo. El rock ha sido el punto de partida para la mayoria de géneros que conocemos en la actualidad y lo utilizaron, como mencionas, para enviar mensajes de protesta a la sociedad de la época
