Amongst the prettiee... prettieeee... flowers......

in Photography Lovers4 years ago

So, as I mentioned before, I went to look for shrooms and more shrooms recently. Ahaaaa.... but, I didn't mention then that I also found something else too...

I thought I would catch some flowers, the attractive ixoras, as the bushes were blooming quite nicely.

Apparently, I wasn't the only admirer there that day...

Blind me didn't notice it at first
There I was, snap... snap...
Somehow I was suddenly aware I wasn't the only one there
Out of the corner of my eye
(not really, it was right under my nose, yucks! lol...)
I could almost hear it go, "chomp, chomp, chomp!"
You see what I saw?
If not, you're almost as blind as me!
😄

There!
Let me zoom in close for you...

My, my... it was hungry, or greedy!
"Chomp, chomp, chomp!"
It was eating very fast
And didn't bother with me
And me trying to take in its 'beauty'
(creepy crawlies freak me out!)
Although I can admit - it is beautiful!

DSC02240b.jpg

Even though it wasn't one of those colourful,
furry, hairy, thorns sticking out all over varieties
It was just 'plain' brown
But the patterns on it are pretty!
See where it had already polished off a whole bud...
Right in front of my eyes!
Then it quickly moved on to the next!

Me with new lens could get quite decent shots of it
Even though it's not a macro lens...
But I got bokeh...
😉

"Chomp, chomp, chomp!
Get outta my face, hooman!"

I was staring (and snapping as fast as I could) in horrified fascination at how fast it was decimating that bud!

DSC02254b.jpg

And then it was done!
"burp!"
...and on the move...

It started down the stalk...
down... down...
in that characteristic worm-like/caterpillar-like movement
"Inching"?
It took that two inch body like two seconds to get under some leaves, under that bunch of ixora

And there it stayed!
It being an overcast day, and our lil friend
suddenly wanting a nap in the shade...
I had to wind up the settings to get a half decent brighter shot here

That pattern looks almost snake-like...
I wonder what type of butterfly or moth it will turn out to be

I can hear the mouth of the caterpillar eating flowers. I guess that's greedy. But the caterpillar is very lucky, because you take very good photos of it.😀😀

Hahaha, I thought I heard it too! 😂
Thank you very much, @rizasukma 🙏

you are welcome, friend.😀🙏🙏

When I looked at the first photo I didn't even realize it was a caterpillar!

Haha, most people start admiring the flowers, and forget what's lurking in the dark! :)

Woo these bugs are really bigg for such a tiny Ixora flower. I love the color of the petals. Few have opened just min ago

These are beautiful, @pradeepdee6! The caterpillar in your first shot is so cute and tiny! Bet it eats less and slower than mine... :) Thank you for dropping by and showing us these lovely shots!
