Parking up at the side of the road, we entered the wood to be met with a lovely carpet of wild garlic with little white flowers. Someone who had been foraging earlier on, was just leaving with a basket of garlic leaves. If you do pick the garlic, you should just pick the leaves and not the whole plant with the bulb as obviously the plant won't return next year.
There was a footpath straight through the middle of the wood.
You couldn't help but notice the pungent smell of the garlic.
A part of the wood is private, but you can still sneak in and out. The garlic grows beyond the private part as well, so some of it is open to the public.
Amidst the sea of green garlic leaves, we noticed a few bluebells and pink bells scattered throughout, adding a welcome splash of colour. It was a nice contrast next to all the greenery.
I think there was more garlic in last year's crop. We did wonder if it was because of the lack of sun or if the garlic had matured early and was now dying out. However, it was still an enjoyable visit. I didn't pick any as I'm not a lover of garlic in food.

Rainy storms are coming in a few days. I asked someone, he was working on it! His Water Snake or Naga would be bringing lots of rain, I hope.
