The last evening in the Altai Mountains turned out to be clear and quiet. We have already descended from the base camp back to the Nomad campsite. Of course, this is already on the Aktru gorge, but still the Altai Mountains. It's a pity to leave these places, but people don't live here all the time. Even the employees of the base are here seasonally, as long as there are customers. And this is quite natural. After all, you have to eat something, dress in something. Clothes, for example, can be purchased somewhere in a populated area, but there is a lot of food and you will not store it for a long time. And it is absolutely impossible to grow vegetables here - there is no suitable soil for this.
The sun was setting behind the peaks of the mountains, and a thin strip of clouds slowly drifted in from somewhere. But against the background of the sunset, they looked like thunderclouds. Everyone who was at the base began to photograph this beauty. The cloud slowly moved along the horizon and gradually changed the landscape of this summer sunset. I wanted to capture every second of this evening.
Looking through these photos now, I regret to realize that I personally could not do it. Yes, there are beautiful photos available, but there is no atmosphere, there is no sense of presence in this place.
The moon, which had risen in the western part of the sky, reflected the last rays of the passing day alone. The sun had already disappeared from our eyes, and we could only see its light reflected. The camera of my camera could no longer shoot in such twilight.
But then the stars came out in the sky. And it remained undetected even by the camera. I think that professional astrophotographers come to such places and take their best pictures there.
After all, the nights are ideally dark here. There are no cities or other settlements nearby. There is only the light of the stars and the moon. Set the shutter speed for a few minutes and enjoy the subtle light paths of the stars moving around the North Star.
And yet this fiery sunset will always remain in my memory. Of course, there have been and will be other equally beautiful sunsets, but this one will never happen again. Very sorry.
The only mountains that can be better than mountains are those that you haven't been to yet.
