Hey everyone! I am back with my fleas war update. It has been around about a week since I updated their condition and the fleas that are plaguing our home and the kitten. We found some effective ways to eventually clean them from our living space.
About 5 days ago, we cleaned the kitten areas as well as their pet cage with a mix of dish soap and lots of hot water. Since we cleaned them so thoroughly, we eradicate almost all the fleas population and whenever we’re crossing our garage, we are not being attacked by fleas anymore.
Clean the heavily infested areas with dish soap & pesticide but be VERY careful!
We also tried another trick by spraying the heavily infested areas with pesticide. Obviously, the cats should be away and they should not be allowed near the areas that are sprayed with pesticides. We use this product called Baygon by Johnson & Son. They work wonders and I am no longer afraid of visiting the kitchen where in the last few weeks, I always got attacked by fleas.
While we brought everyone to the vet and bathed them around last week, another one thing I did is by picking the fleas manually. However, fleas are so difficult to eradicate and you have to ensure they don’t fly around, make sure to have these before you’re doing it.
What you need to battle the fleas !

- Prepare two types of big bowl. One is filled with a mixture of water and dish soap. Another is clean water
- Prepare a towel
- Prepare a tweezers
How to do it safely - Kill the fleas,not your cat
If one thing I learn about fleas is that they really hate dish soap. The dish soap can instantly stunt and even kill the fleas. They won’t be running around once they are trapped inside this mixture of dish soap and water.
- So, first grab the kitten and make sure they are calm enough.
- Second, inspect areas where the fleas love to hide. With my kitten they love having a party around the eyes and behind the ear. Sometimes they run around their body like you see above.
- Third, with your fingertip, make bubbles and apply on the areas carefully. The fleas will run around like they were busted.
- Then pick them with the tweezer and transfer into the bowl with the dish soap liquid.
- Next apply the clean water to the area with the dish soap carefully until it’s cleaned well.
- Dry the kitten area and repeat until you no longer see any fleas around.
While that technique is pretty slow to kill, it has helped my kitten from being severely infested by fleas. They are now happily running around, eating and we are also no longer being attacked by fleas like we used to. Safely to say, their population has reduced too and even in the kitten's body, they are a lot less than it used to.
I love doing it during my laptop breaks & even if it is just 30 minutes twice a day, I am fairly satisfied with the fleas that I managed to kill with this trick. Have you tried that trick? if not, it’s best giving it a try :D and fleas be gone!

Fleas are very difficult because of their ability to jump but with perseverance they can be overcome.
At home I keep clean the areas, my dog's bed, the floors and even the ground with Boric Acid, in small quantities it is effective and the animals are not at risk, you do it at night and the next day you sweep it.
I hope you can soon get rid of all the bad fleas. 😊
I'll keep that in mind and will try boric acid for places with sofas and the floor. It's really crazy how these fleas problem are not solved yet :D but I believe I'll eventually win the war with them.
Oh my, poor babies full of fleas, those kind of is really itchy to their skin, it's a good thing they have a fur mom who'll take care of them like this. We had problem lioe this b4 with our cat but thanks to the spray we used they are all gone now. And it's also a goos thing that only the adult cat who were affected that time.
We used spray too but they don't seem to work. I also heard they're not the best option for kitten too. It's getting to be a headache and I wish we could really stop this fleas problem soon.
