The future of Decentralized Social Media is closer than ever before.
Development on the WeYouMe Mainnet has been an ongoing effort that is progressing rapidly.
At a time when the world is facing unprecedented levels of global instability and uncertainty, the value of free expression and free exchange is being demonstrated clearly.
We have transferred a large amount of global commerce and communications onto digital systems, and we need to be able to rely on these platforms to be neutral and reliable.
Our vision for a decentralized social media platform has never been more clear.
Many of the most important elements of the WeYouMe Mainnet have been developed and are now entering the testing phase including:
- Communities
- Assets
- Connections and Private Messaging
- Marketplace
- Decentralized Exchange
Communities collect posts about specific topics:
Each community is built around a private encryption key for all posts within the community to be posted.
Each community is able to select administrators and moderators, which are able to invite and admit members.
WeYouMe will provide eight different levels of privacy for communities, which enable every community to determine the correct level for them.
The Moderators of each community are able to earn a percentage of all posts created within it, and shape the content that the community enables to be posted within it.
Any account can become a governance account and provide moderation tagging to the accounts that subscribe to them, allowing everyone to participate in content moderation across the network.
Assets represent transferrable value:
Currency Assets are issued to network contributors in every block, and cannot be issued by accounts directly.
Standard Assets can be issued by an issuer account and represent a fungible token or coin.
Equity assets can be issued by a business account to represent voting control over the business account and earn a portion of ongoing account revenue.
Bond Assets can be issued by a business account to borrow funds from the market at a fixed interest rate and repay the principle upon maturity.
Credit Assets can be issued by a business account to borrow funds from the market, which earn a variable interest rate and are repurchased from ongoing account revenue.
Stimulus Assets automatically issue an equal amount of an asset to a group of accounts that can be spent with specified accounts and are redeemable from a pool of funds to drive economic activity.
Account connections intermediate encrypted information exchanges:
Account are able to connect with up to 3 levels of security for encrypting their private posts and private messages. This gives accounts full control over who can read their posts, and read their private profile information.
By using the protocol as the message transmission mechanism, private keys can be exchanged securely without requiring a central server, and can be accessed from all devices equally.
The marketplace enables products and services to be bought and sold with escrow:
By using escrow transfers, buyer and seller can select their own mediators, and access a neutral group of mediators for resolution in the case of a dispute.
The market includes Fixed price sales of ongoing products and a variety of auction sale types with public and private bidding options.
Assets on WeYouMe can be traded using the Decentralized Exchange:
By using limit and margin orders, assets can be traded with other accounts, without requiring a central orderbook, with zero fees for maker orders, and low fees for taker orders.
The Decentralized exchange combines a liquidity pool with all orders placed, to minimize slippage and allow market makers to provide passive liquidity automatically.
Auction orders allow assets to be cleared at a daily trading price with minimal slippage.
In the coming months, as the mainnet becomes stable and tested, we will be deploying a new testnet containing all of these new features.
All WeYouMe Protocol code is developed within the same Graphene Framework as HIVE.
This means that all open source code in WeYouMe can be accessed for future HIVE development once deployed and tested on the WeYouMe protocol.
