Silkweaving

in #hive4 years ago

Alright, one final post on online mandala making :D I wanna show you the SilkWeaver website (also available as app on android and iPhone, i think) (but i only know and used the website version off the desktop~)

Anyway, this particular tool is a lot more colourful and shinier but it's also a lot less controllable. The algorithm generates randomizes silk weaving based off your mouse's movements in general strokes. You can't get it to really precisely produce a specific shape, in other words.

All you can do is nudge the cursor in broad forms and hope something pretty ish would come out. I found my best results were happening when I let go of trying to control the drawings, to be honest, with the silk weaver XD

Here is a video of a Cosmic Flower that I did~

Pretty colours~ Right??? :D

And I think the process is quite self explanatory, as well. You basically choose the how-many-points-of-repetition you wanna work with. I think the Cosmic Flower used the 5-points setting, and then you choose the colour you wanna draw with and just start drawing! You can change colours mid-way and you can also undo strokes you are not happy with~ It's an intuitive tool set-up, I think :)

Here is the finished picture:

Took less than a few minutes to make this shiny Cosmic Flower, too~

Again, like the other websites I mentioned in my earlier posts, you don't need anything other than internet and your mouse to make these. And they are aided, sure, by the engine, but they are still your drawing. Your strokes make these forms appear, and you chose the colours and the basic shapes, so there's still some originality in these.

Like I mentioned to @ryivhnn in the comments section of my last post, plagiarists and art thieves go to insane lengths to scam others whereas original contents CAN be generated with all that time and effort that goes into hurting artists and art fans and the art community in general.

Where there is will to bring something of value that is original, there ARE MANY WAYS to do so. You don't need fancy tools like drawing tablet or access to expensive drawing softwares like Photoshop or Blender, or even pencil and paper. I've mentioned a few websites in the previous posts, there are sketch.io, and silk weaver, and google deep dream, and if you're not keen on drawing or art, you can still write a story and entertain others.

OK, enough wordswordswords from me!

I wanna close out with another art I made with the silk weaver and this time it is sort of a fanart to a game, Devil May Cry 5. Cuz I'm playing that at the moment and as I was playing I noticed its logo and I thought it's something that I can recreate with the silkweaver so here it is :D

Devil May Cry 5 - Logo

As Australia is in #lockdown, i've found myself gaming again XD I haven't really played anything on the console for a long time, to be honest, so it's a nice change of pace to just sit at the couch and start to button mash again lol

The franchise itself is an amazing series, and one of my favourites :D I love the game style and the characters and some of the level designs were just so much fun~ My favourite from this franchise is DMC3 but DMC5 is really rocking my boots right now :D

I think it's a nice family story, at the end of the day. Brotherhood <3

Alright, I hope you are all doing well and staying safe.

From me, that's this would be the last post about online mandala / pattern drawing websites :) I will be moving on in the future to talk about other things and since I'm back playing some games, I might do talk about gaming a bit more :D

See you next time, friends o/

Very interesting and cool formations. Wow! 😊

This kind of shapes and colors are very relaxing to see

there is a certain relaxation with their weavery weavingness, for sure :D

Who knows maybe that's how they came up with that logo XD

Yay for gaming! I keep thinking I'm going to finish building some railway tracks on my Minecraft server (kids and Sprat are playing in normal mode and I'm playing in creative because I like building things for them to find and connecting the bases up with extravagant railways and also my mouse is dodgy so I would just die if a zombie came because knowing my luck it would stop working at a critical moment) but that hasn't happened yet because I keep deciding to work on my head-universe instead XD

Really think you're onto something there with those silly people stealing artwork, if any of them are reading this I wonder if they will be smart enough to try this route instead XD

XD who knows! may actually be cuz that logo is pretty classical WINGS formation, tbh XD

yesyesyes a perk of having to stay indoors a lot is that we are starting to check out stuff that we've been meaning to do inside the house that we haven't been doing (like GAMING) !

railway tracks sound super cool! i never got into minecraft myself but i have seen some models built inside with it and they always look so damn neat * ___ * ! if fyn does have sommit to show off minecraft, i'd be super excited to check out fyn's builds (or sprat's or minifynses') :D :D :D

head-universes are SUPER FUN to work in, though, i can understand hahahah~

YESSSSSSSS if people can just stop being silly and spending stupid amount of time and efforts to scam others (only to get caught somewhere down the line anyway) and REALISE that there are legitimate ways to generate something original online instead.......... that'd be great. I think.

well! one can only hope that one has done enough hinthintnudgenudge efforts to motivate others .....

FOR NOW

thanks as always fyn, for very thoughtful comments <3 much appreciate yo!

I have been thinking of doing a Minecraft post but it requires effort as I would need to do a video to show off @gorc's redstone machines so it's one of the things that will probably never make it high enough up my todo list to actually get done XD

There's only so much help you can give people, after that they actually have to do things themselves and you gotta free yourself up to do your own things XD

baaaaah i hope you get to do it someday! i'd like to see :D

and yep. can only show the door, they gotta walk thru it, as they say~

That looks fun spidey!! And seems very quite sensitive in the sense a very small mouse movement will trigger a big ripple. I'm going to try this out. Thnaks!

it really is pretty fun :D ! i'd like to see what lut comes up with o yes oyes~ :D :D :D
