I am currently developing an online sandbox hardcore survival game with a high fantasy RPG theme. I intend to implement a way to reward players with STEEM for their successes, and make the the idea of permanent death even more scary!
Full disclosure: This account was purchased via @anonsteem, so that I wouldn't take a "loan" from the blockchain. My main account is @thatsweeneyguy, I just wanted to keep my game stuff separate, and create a more official front for contests, Steemgigs, and team-building.
The game is going to be incredibly hard, and you'll have to start from scratch and survive in a harsh world set in a medieval fantasy setting. The game will be online, so you'll be able to interact with other players. Some will be helpful I'm sure, but not everyone will be so quick to offer their time or resources to helping you reach higher levels. There will be PVP at almost all times, meaning another player will be able to attack you, and possibly steal anything you possessed.
The graphics will resemble those of the SNES from the glory days of RPGs. I have spent almost my entire life writing medieval fantasy stories and games, and hope to use that to turn this world into a highly engaging one.
I'm not entirely sure just yet exactly how the reward system will work, but I would ideally like for it to be based on an in game token which could be bought or sold in game for STEEM.

Very interesting idea! Have you heard of Entropia Universe? They have a real world currency connection there, but it's not STEEM. I think your concept might work even better than Entropia.
