Hey guys! I spent my last evening in Piombino in a silent area on a hill next to the sea. I enjoyed the sunset without my camera, after the sunset was over I began to take some pictures during the night. I also saw some fireflies, but unfortunately they are not visible on the pictures. Some things will only live on in our memory ... Next to me was a building with an unseen dome. The Astronomical Observatory was built for the city of Piombino. The responsible for it was a voluntary association, which was active in the seventies to promote the amateur astronomy. More and more the observatory has acquired instruments for astronomical observations. The members observe events, such as the solar and lunar eclipses, comets and much more! Unfortunately, the building was closed and I could only look at it from the outside..

Hallo an alle da draussen! Den letzen Abend in Piombino verbrachte ich eher ruhig auf einem Hügel mit Aussicht aufs Wasser Richtung Meer. Den Sonnenuntergang habe ich ohne meine Kamera genossen, dafür knipste ich einige Bilder in der Nacht. Einige Glühwürmchen habe ich auch gesehen, jedoch sind diese auf Fotos leider nicht sichtbar. Einiges wird nur in unserer Erinnerung weiterleben … Neben mir stand ein Gebäude mit nicht übersehbarer Kuppel. Das Astronomische Observatorium wurde für die Stadt Piombino gebaut. Die verantwortlichen dafür war ein freiwilligen Verein, der in den Siebziger Jahren aktiv war, um die Amateurastronomie zu fördern. Immer mehr hat das Observatorium an Instrumenten für astronomische Beobachtungen erworben. Die Mitglieder beobachten Ereignissen, wie die Sonnen- und Mondfinsternisse, Kometen und vieles mehr! Leider war das Gebäude geschlossen und ich konnte dieses nur von außen betrachten…
