in #life7 years ago

Hello Steemians,
Greetings,

This has been a long time and today I get to express my writing again. Hi, This is Aashish :)
If you have been following me, then you might already know I wasn't posting anything for quite a long period of time. Yep, that's true and today I would like to answer why!!

First let me tell you a story, a story based on the reality. And, this is the story of a common US immigrant from Nepal or any other developing country.

The Story Of a Common US Immigrant From A Developing Country

Okay, once upon a time there was a little boy. He was born a average family of a developing country. There were times when he had to face problems mostly economical. Also, he wasn't much of a economic deprived. His life was just okay, and he was having basics that every average family has. In his country private schools are much better than government schools. But, the problem is that they are expensive. He was also one from a government school. His family somehow managed him to get to the private schools for his better education. He was also deserving. He was a talented, enthusiastic, and curious kid. He was also very much influenced by technology.

He got his hands on a laptop for the first time when he was in grade 10. His academic excellence got himself a laptop for the first time in grade 10. That was a very precious moment for him. He didn't however have a internet connection yet. He used to go to his neighbors a few times a month to use the internet. His life was going the same way. After a year, there was something called SLC(School Leaving Certificate), this is the end of secondary level education. He got distinction marks, however he wasn't quite satisfied with the result. Then, he went to high school. He took physical science as the major. He was offered some scholarship for he got his name of the top second of the entrance exam.

After high school, he had various options. He could be an engineer, lecturer, or anything else. That wasn't mush of the options for him. He was influenced with technology and it's potentials. He wanted to be a programmer and bring some revolution to the field of technology. He wanted add his contribution to the existing field of technology. But, he couldn't see that in his country. He was from a developing country and technology wasn't much flourished in his country. His country, however, was the most beautiful country in the world with rich natural heritages. The problem was the political instability. That's why he could see only one option which is foreign education. And, for his interest in technology, USA was the best choice for him.

These kind of give a picture of his place.

As you know, the process of getting a US visa isn't that easy. When it's F-1 visa, then the case is even more difficult. For him, it took his 1 year worth of time, and 1000$ worth of money for the process(which also means a lot to him). When he got his visa in the first attempt, this was sort of a achievement for him. This is however sad to leave his family and his place. The last day of departure was the most hard day for himself and his family. His family were crying and he was feeling sad. He was also excited because he was following his dreams.

Here, the flight begins

And, here the land of his dream

Okay, now he has finally arrived at the land of dream which is also a land of opportunities. It's been nearly a couple of months from his arrival. He s now in Louisiana state, and he studies in Southeastern Louisiana University. He had chosen a major Computer Science for his dream is to be a programmer. He now have a lot of things to struggle with. First comes the economy. He will have to to job and manage funding for the college himself. He will have to adopt to a different environment. He will have to adopt to a different food habit, and different culture. This is not going to easy for him but he still believes that he means something to himself and the upcoming future.

So, that was the end of the story. The story might not be complete but it gives the clear picture of all F-1 immigrants from the developing country. And, I am also one of them and the story is all about me and many of those like me.

This might give you some idea why I wasn't active for quite a long period of time. I am finally at the USA and I get very less time to involve myself in social media. Steemit however brings me the opportunity to express myself and get me the opportunity to have some economic boost. I would be trying to post here probably once or twice a week if I could get time. Anyway, you get the idea why I can't be active very often as I once used to. That said, the love for steemit is always on my heart and I am so grateful to all my followers and supporters.

If you mind some support, just a "thumbs up" is appreciable.
Thank you!

Your loving steemian,
Aashish Kandel,

Namaste, bless you!

Thank you @surpassinggoogle,
You know how grateful I am to you ;) , Your words means a lot to me !!

i have been trying to teach stuff since then. My last post taught some things as well

Welcome to the United States. I wish you all the success you deserve being brave to come to a new place to study so far away from home. My youngest daughter is in her first year at Purdue and it is hard and she is close to home.

Thank you @tecnosgirl,
I can feel how hard it is for her :)
Say my regards to her, and best of luck for her study :)

Oh I meant it was hard for me not her. She does miss home some but she is so busy with her classes and her old and new friends (she was lucky her dorm roommate is one of her best friends from high school) to get too sad. And being close to home she can visit, she came home for the long weekend, this weekend, though I have yet to see her, but all her friends and the rest of the family has, she is spending the day with me tomorrow, as I am taking her back to campus. I hope you find a family among friends if you haven't yet. Sometimes friends can be like family when you can't be near them. I traveled for 3 years when I was young away from family and friends that was like family made it easier.

Yeah, I can understand your point.
Even it is more hard for my mom than it is for me. I leave in an apartment with 3 other friends from my country Nepal. They are really like a family. And not only that, most of the nearby apartments are all like Nepalese. And it just feels like our own society. You know, this is so easy for the "home" part for me. But, as you can see, it's not the same for my parents.
Also, this is not always going to be what it looks today, things are going to change and adaptation is the key!!

here is summary of this story @aashishkandel thanks for sharing story:-
