Living large in the game of life. Keeping my eyes on my own prize and ignoring everyone else.

in #life7 years ago

Getting ahead in the game of life, money, and business is like chess. You'll see other people make moves that make you cringe, hate them, or want to roll your eyes sometimes, but if you react, you could lose. Keep calm, quiet, and strategize. Their mistakes are their mistakes. You can learn from them and move on. Don't even look at them. Look past them and keep your eyes on your prize.

What is your prize? Do you even know what you're playing for? Why does it bother you when you see Susan Komen exploiting breast cancer and getting rich? Didn't she deserve that? She survived cancer and started a movement. How can you sit around and hate on that and judge her? Or when you see the Christians playing holier than though, then being hypocrites and using the cross or Jesus' name for financial benefit. The world is full of fakes out there. People trying to take advantage of others and prey on the weak. Why does that bother you?

Start your own movement! You're wasting precious energy and time. I know I have in my life. This post is a reminder that I've been focusing too much on other people and not keeping my eyes on the prize. What is my prize?

To be a leader in my industry. To be the best at what I do. To be the first person people call upon when they need what I have. To inspire others to be their best versions.

I started a non profit. It's awesome! But I could be doing more I know. I find myself caught up in things that take my eyes off the prize of financial freedom, world travel, and making a difference in millions of people's lives. You could say I've been living small. But it's no one else's fault but my own. I've allowed myself to get distracted by other people's opinions of me, getting angry at the way some other's do business by not minding my own business, and then wasting my energy on things that aren't relevant at all to becoming my greatest version.

It's my own fault. I've been living small. I will focus on my own prize, mind my own business and ignore those that do stupid things that used to bother me.

We run non profit called http://www.muse4change.org (501ce) that does musical demonstrations in schools to inspire kids to pick up instruments instead of video game controllers. We give away guitars, bass guitars, drums and lessons for kids in lower income housing areas and third world countries. It’s a blast!!!
