NPR in 1989 Produced Investigative Journalism, Today it Just Parrots Propaganda: Israel Arms the Contras

USG funded media used to actually produce journalism. This Frontline report on covert Israeli arms dealers and military advisers in Nicaragua participating in the Iran/Contra Affair in which Nicaraguan rebels were armed, cocaine was smuggled into the USA and sold as crack by drug gangs, and the drug money paid for weapons and training for the Contras in Nicaragua (and arms sold to Iran, but through Israel acting as a cutout), is classical investigative reporting, contrary to the slavish posture of NPR today, that would call the sky red if the USG told them to.

I think many people that didn't live through the 1980s would be astounded to see what USG funded media used to be, and to learn the history of the Iran/Contra terrorist war in Nicaragua. This was what freedom of speech, funded by your tax dollars, used to look like. This is what boomers think NPR is today, when it tells them what the CIA and MI6 wants them to think. They don't understand they've been betrayed, that freedom of speech no longer exists, and that they're being indoctrinated by the Communists that the USG used to fight against.

Of course, Israel's covert terrorist actions weren't limited to Nicaragua, and you'll find many more places named here that were disrupted then that suffer the consequences today. My heart breaks for the freedom that used to exist, in an America that used to exist, but has been crushed into dust and blown away in the wind. I feel like I have been gutted watching this reminder of what we used to have.

I know we need it back. We cannot be subjugated to the Communists. Hive was supposed to support freedom of speech. This is the role it was to fill. Let's make speech free again. Let freedom ring.

Today I heard that the NZ Gov, is demanding that Rumble - remove the account I often watch and quote in my videos - FreeNZ Media - luckily the CEO of Rumble has told them to pound sand - https://rumble.com/v4rb00r-rumble-ceo-chris-pavlovski-stands-up-to-nz-government-censorship-demands-cl.html - this is only possible because of universal journalistic capture - there is no one on MSM, in New Zealand that will report on it - so things like this happen - you give an example above of how journalist used to do journalism - we all see the consequences now - the good news though, is the MSM is dying fast. I just hope that what fills the void is something good~

Let freedom ring alright!

Thanks!

While I'm sure in favor of resisting censorship, the ownership of Rumble isn't his alone, it's a corporation, and I believe BlackRock is on his board. I'm not sure how long he can keep his position and maintain his stance. Musk seems to now be censoring people for the BR backseat dictator Moraes, which leaves Pavlovsky and Durov of Telegram all but twisting in the wind instead of being supported by Musk. It's important we remember both Rumble and Telegram have taken strong anti-censorship positions, while Musk talked a good fight, but threw in the towel, it seems.

Thanks!

I did not even know that. I had to look it up - and you are right, not only BR - but Vanguard as well. It won't be long until they take it over fully. Then we all have to get on boats and leave.

Thanks!

We just need a network we own, and can defend.

I for sure think that we need to refresh debate and discussion on topics, regardless of how difficult it may be. That’s the best way we can learn ourselves and also, if we are open minded, walk away with a changed perspective either in favor or against the topic discussed. This shouting down, silencing, banning nonsense is childish. I’m hoping we are at the end of he “weak men create hard times” cycle so we can start to rebuild these basic elements of society.

I certainly agree, but note we haven't seen hard times yet. We haven't begun to see them in the West. We can just see them coming.

Thanks!
