I live in a country (Republic of South Africa) that is mired by corruption, poor public education, tear-jerking unemployment, corrupt politicians masquerading as the people's champion, and the worst of them all - multinational organizations pillaging our plentiful resources for their personal gain. I'm turned into a beggar in my own home, to settle for whatever crumbs fall off the dinner table - like dogs at the feet of the masters.
In such an environment, any evolution towards freedom must confront all of these malevolent and despotic characters. Not to negotiate with them, but to take back the power that we so unwittingly surrendered by refusing to further comply.
I believe decentralization is a pivotal part of that evolution, to realise the great pending immensity. I say pending because only the people will decide how massive blockchain will be. Not just developers and blockchain enthusiasts.
Alas, we also need to be cognizant of the fact that the establishment is working tirelessly with their endless resources to derail this pending immensity, to subdue the potential of decentralized systems.
The people of this world need to trust blockchain technology in order for us to truly realise the potential of decentralized systems. For this to happen, I believe blockchain technology needs to take a leap into the the physical world. We need to build decentralized physical communities (I call them DepCOMS); where people can touch, see and feel the power of blockchain technology. But most important of of all, this will allow people who do not know how to write code to contribute to the decentralized world with brick and mortar projects, beyond just simply exchanging fiat currency for cryptos and tokens.
The immensity of our evolution is directly proportional to the quality of our environment. Lets build a world where the people's labour benefits them the most.
