Freedom of Speech, Web3, Blockchain, Human Intelligence, Lives That Matter, and the fear of AI

in #monomad4 months ago (edited)

@adm @hivewatchers Yes, I am using the assistance of AI to get my point out as my words to the admins may come across a little less that pleasant. Feel free to continually downvote me, my profile will exist on this platform as long as the blockchain to run it exists. I use web3 technology daily and have used blockchain and crypto for 12 years now as I no longer want to be a product on someones website or bound by defunct fiat currencies. Blacklist me as much as you feel is required, I'm not here to fight I'm here to share pieces of my 65 years on earth. At my age I'll damn well use what ever tools are at my disposal to make a point and share my experiences. I'm not about to defend any of my actions on a Discord channel nor communicate with an icon called @adm or the Hive Warriors (HW). I no longer use conventional search engines that lead us down rabbit holes and assist in creating marketing campaigns around our input, my use of AI tools is far superior in my opinion. Fearing AI or any disruptive technology is an oxymoron if you are posting on Hive or any web3 application...

In an era where the line between reality and digital fabrication blurs, the quest for authenticity becomes increasingly complex. As a creator on the pioneering web3 platform Hive, I've encountered both the promise and the pitfalls of leveraging cutting-edge technology to express one's personal experiences. My journey through the realms of digital creativity has been met with enthusiasm, but also skepticism, particularly from Hive Warriors (HW) and Administrators (Adm) who have downvoted my contributions, questioning the veracity of my experiences and the authenticity of my photographs.

The crux of their concern lies in the potential misuse of Artificial Intelligence (AI) by malicious actors, a fear I share and understand. AI's ability to generate deceptive content poses a significant threat to the integrity of digital platforms. However, the indiscriminate downvoting of genuine personal experiences under the pretext of combating AI misuse undermines the very essence of community and creativity that platforms like Hive strive to foster.

My contention with this approach is twofold. Firstly, it invalidates the rich tapestry of human experience that contributors like myself bring to the platform. The suggestion that my life events did not occur, or that the photographs I captured with my own Nikon camera are somehow fabricated, dismisses the authenticity of my lived experience. This not only discredits my contributions but also diminishes the value of genuine human connection that web3 platforms aim to cultivate.

Secondly, the critique of using digital tools to express oneself overlooks the evolution of artistic expression throughout history. Just as musicians have embraced sequencers since the 1980s to enrich the soundscape of their creations, digital creators use the tools at their disposal to articulate their visions and share their life stories. The use of technology in art and expression is not a denial of authenticity but a testament to human innovation and adaptability.

The resistance to digital tools and the skepticism towards content on web3 platforms reflect a broader discomfort with change and the unfamiliar. Yet, history shows us that innovation in art and expression often faces initial resistance before becoming integral to cultural narratives. The crowds that danced to sequenced music in arenas despite initial skepticism are a testament to the enduring human spirit to embrace and adapt to new forms of expression.

In this digital age, where web3 platforms offer unprecedented opportunities for creativity and connection, it is crucial to strike a balance between vigilance against misuse and openness to genuine expression. The indiscriminate downvoting of content based on unfounded skepticism not only stifles creativity but also alienates those who seek to share their authentic selves with the world.

As creators, we must navigate these challenges with resilience, continually advocating for our right to express our lived experiences through the tools that best convey our messages. It is through the sharing of these genuine stories that we can foster a more inclusive, understanding, and connected digital community.

The journey of a web3 creator is fraught with challenges, but it is also rich with potential. By championing authenticity and embracing the myriad tools of expression available to us, we can transform the digital landscape into a vibrant tapestry of human experience. Let us shake our fists not in anger, but in celebration of the unassailable fact that people have lived, loved, and have every right to share their lives through whatever medium speaks to their heart.

Hello @sokal.
Please keep in mind that the #monomad tag is supposed to be used only with black and white photography published in the black and white community. Basically as the entry ticket for our daily challenge with the same name. It's a contest tag, and not a generic one like #blackandwhite #photography #life #nature, etc. 🙂

The first word in your title is freedom.

The really cool thing is that you have it, can embrace it, enact it, talk about, think about it and so on, in the ways you choose.

However, the same freedom you enjoy, and say you will continue to enjoy, extends to others who use their freedom in the ways they choose. Right?

This post is clearly a gripe about being downvoted by Hive Watchers and, because freedom, you're well within your rights to think and write it...but freedom is everyone's to enjoy and others may not enjoy it in the way you enjoy it and will act commensurate to their own ideals.

Calling out Hive Watchers and @adm like this isn't going to help you any, it may well do the opposite...but freedom, right?

Good luck.

Yes freedom is what we have on here to do and say as we please, to vote up or down as we please. I appreciate your comment and agree. I do know your right that this may not help me any other than to share my thoughts and carry on. Thank you.
