Correction does much, but encouragement does more. (Goethe)

What kind of a person are you? There are some people who have a habit of always correcting and always finding the mistakes in other people. If you would count your daily words to other people, how many of them would be positive, neutral, and negative? Do you have a guess yourself? If you have no clue, ask the people around you. If you don't have anyone to ask, then you might not speak a lot.

But, you can also try to do some research on your own. Think about your words as they leave your mouth. Start to examine your words. Are you a positive person? Are you spreading words of encouragement or are you more the correction person? It is possible to take this wrong and say that correction is important. It is... but, if you only spread correction to someone near to you, that person will not really appreciate it.

Have you ever thought about how you give medicine to kids? You try to make it taste good. If it tastes bad, then you add a pill and hide it within a teaspoon of Nutella or something like that. What is the purpose? They need the medicine, but you cover it with something nice.

If you need to correct someone, start with something positive and do not just look down on them and correct them. Another important lesson is that people don't hear what you say until they feel that you care. That is true. If you don't care about a person, don't correct them. But, if you truly care for someone, let them know that you care and let them feel that you care!
