Hey dear community, first of all I hope that you had a day that was full of positive experiences and a great start to the weekend! In this post, I would like to talk a little about nature and hope you are able to expand your knowledge.

Here are some pictures of the lemon daylily which is also known under the scientific name Hemerocallis lilioasphodelus and has its origin in Japan, Siberia or China and it was considered one of the first lily species that in the 16th century were introduced in Europe and now it has also been widespread in other continents. After arriving in Europe, it was very unknown and it should take some years until it was more and more familiarised and from the 18th century, a large market was created around the lemon daylily and it became an increasingly popular ornamental plant and there are traces that it has already been mentioned by the Chinese philosopher Confucius and in ancient China, it was considered an important medicinal plant and is also anchored in mythology and appears in different legends. Over the centuries, more and more breeding varieties have emerged and the effect as a medicinal plant was rather unknown on other continents and in general, I would like to mention here that in case of illness you should always ask your doctor or pharmacist of trust about the correct use as well as possible side effects in order to avoid complications! In Europe it can now also be found wild and the flowering period begins as early as May and attracts also different species of insects with its enchanting yellow flowers and especially often you can see bees or butterflies here and those who value a particularly strong growth should plant it in the sun, but it also thrives well in partial shade and can be classified as generally very easy to care for. It is best to choose a moist substrate, but you should avoid waterlogging and it also needs sufficient nutrients and in nature, it usually also grows on roadsides or swamp-like areas and easily tolerates cool winters and another interesting characteristic is that the flowers show up over a longer period of time and form new flowers daily for weeks.
