1. What is Qurator?
Qurator is a service that helps users who pour their blood, sweat and tears into content creation to get noticed and rewarded for their efforts. Steemit has seen some incredible growth in the last few months and even though this is amazing for the platform, it might make it harder for the new Steemians to get noticed. With daily posts hovering well over 200 000 you can imagine how hard it is to get the attention you deserve for all your hard work.
That's where @qurator comes in. We want to help those who work really hard but still see little to no rewards on their posts. We are a support system that likes giving back to the community. Do not mistake us for a pay4vote bot.
We are here to help minnows and brand new steemians. We offer editing advice, correct sourcing methods, upvote support, general Steemit support and a post-promotion.
2. What does Qurator do?
We focus on users who post quality/original content. Each day 5 members will be selected and their posts will be featured in the Daily Qurator.
Once a day we will resteem 2 posts from our members.
Members will get an upvote from @qurator once a day. We are limiting upvotes to once a day because we want to keep it fair for all the members. Since some post more than others. The bot can only upvote you once every 24 hours.

Upvotes valued at 2.65 times the amount of SBD you send it (limited to 1 upvote a day, any extra SBD sent will be refunded).
Investors who delegate to @qustodian get paid 90% of all the SBD sent to @qustodian every 24 hours.
3. How to become a member?
We want to give back to the community, but this also means we need some support from the community. We charge a one-off fee of 4 Steem to register as a @qurator member.
The Registration process:
To apply for approval send 4 STEEM to @qurator.
Memo must be your steemit name or the steemit name of a friend that you would like to get approved.
All new accounts must be at least 2 weeks old or have a minimum of 10 posts.
Sending in links or random messages might be considered as a donation so please follow the rules!
Example: 
What happens after you send the registration fee?
After we receive the registration fee you will be in a queue to be approved.
This can take anywhere from 24 to 72 hours. (Sometimes longer depending on your content.)
We have a team of moderators who will review your content, only after a unanimous decision will we then approve or deny the account. Please be patient as not all moderators are online at the same time, so it does take a while to get accounts approved. We want to make sure we are approving a member who posts original content.
If you get approved you will receive a wallet message.
If you get denied you will be refunded. If you have not been approved we are open to discuss why, come visit us on Discord and DM one of the moderators. We are always happy to offer advice and help improve your Steemit blogging experience.
You can apply again, but not right away. We have a cool-down period of 2 weeks and at least 10 posts before we will review your account again.
4. Content guidelines
After months, and extreme growth within and, to the @qurator membership list, we have decided to have some guidelines of what is expected from existing and incoming members (awaiting approval).
We understand that sometimes you may want to make a shorter post, share a meme or have photographs and images (that are tagged appropriately for photo challenge and contests; and sometimes these challenges request no text), but what Qurator is meant to do for all its members is clearly stated in the introductory post.
Reasons you might not get approved:
- Low Quality Content:
- Copy-Pasted content: Taking most of the information from another article and providing very little additional information of your own.
- Low-effort content: Posting just images, a few images and no words, an embedded video and little commentary, or anything else that might be seen as low effort. Try to make your text body at least a minimum of 150 words; this not only helps you get more interaction with other Steemians, but it makes your post appear more put together; and that you took the time and effort into making a presentation to your audience.
- Content with limited text, only a link to a YouTube or Dtube video.
- One image, or even more images, with no text- unless as stated a part of a photo challenge where text is not requested or needed.
- Plagiarism:
- Stealing the entire content of another creator, on Steemit or otherwise. Even if you only list a source, you are likely to end up in the above 'Low Quality Content' category. We will not approve your account and might take further steps by reporting you to @steemcleaners.

- Incorrect Image Sourcing:
- Google search or other blogs are not correct sources. Too much content is simply copied from the web and then sourced with a link. Just because it is a source does not mean it can be used. We highly recommend only using free image sites like pixabay, pixels, maxpixel, unsplash.com, and https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Welcome. We recommend looking at this post for some good free image sources: Don't Plagiarize Images! Here are 13 free (and Legal) ways to find high quality photos you can use on Steemit.
- This is a screenshot from @steemcleaners' Abuse Guide:
- Posts without direct sources to the images will not be accepted. (We know this is not always necessary but we want to maintain a certain level of quality. Credit must be given where credit is due. This is also great Steemit etiquette and will go a long way in showing you are using the right images for your blogs)

- Posts related to bad-mouthing other Steemit users:
- We will not support posts where users talk about flag wars and actively take part in them. We support bloggers and want to stay out of the drama side of Steemit.
- Flag wars are not encouraged and we do not want to get dragged into it. We will warn and eventually kick out users who constantly post negative remarks about other Steemit users.
- Blocked Tags: dMania, Zappl
- Sadly there are some tags we will not upvote. Nothing against the tags themselves, just not something we want to support since it is mostly too short or too much copy/paste content.
Please remember the reason for Qurator is to help members who write quality content to get more visibility to their posts. Our reputation is your reputation and vice versa.
Even before members are approved into the Qurator group, they read this in the main post, and sometimes we all need a gentle reminder.
5. Q-Police!
Warnings will be issued against bad/low quality content. We take this very seriously and we will take action. Maximum of two warnings before being removed and blacklisted from Qurator with no registration refund. Stick to the rules, every respectable Steemian should know and respect the rules.
We also ask that if anyone sees any suspicious content on any post upvoted by Qurator, come visit us on Discord and let us know. We try our best to monitor all our members and make sure we see constant quality.

- Paste your link and mention the person (using @steemitname) you just upvoted.
- After someone mentions you, check if your post did receive an upvote and a comment, and give a thumbs up on the tag. If someone tagged you but did not comment and upvote your post, alert a moderator and we will deal with it.
- Only ONE LINK PER DAY is allowed.
If you notice that someone left the link without respecting the rules, please report it to one the Moderators.
Not respecting the rules will have its consequences.
Failure to comment and upvote will result in a warning.
Three warnings and you will be banned from using #postpromotion. FOREVER

7. Qustodian - Qurator exclusive support bot
For those who would like some extra upvotes from the Qurator project can send SBD and their link to @qustodian. The bot will upvote your post to the value of 2.65 times the amount of SBD you send it.
Send around 0.5SBD and your link to receive upvotes.
Any extra SBD will be refunded!
Upvotes limited to one every 24 hours.

8. Upvote Tiers - NEW TIERS!
We worked out our voting weights to ensure we always stay very close to 80% Voting Power. According to the number of members there will always be a basic voting weight. We have seen a large number of members in the last few weeks and thus our voting power and values are always fluctuating. We do try our best to always keep it profitable for members and investors.
There are 2 ways to get Tier access:
- Upvote @qurator's posts for Tier 1 and Tier 2 access
We know some members don't have a lot of SP and even their 100% upvote is not worth $0.01. We will still count your vote if we see a 100% vote even if it's below $0.01.
Below your can see examples of upvotes that will and/or will not count towards the Tiers:
1% = $0.00 will not be counted
100% = $0.00 will be counted
Any % = at least $0.01 will be counted
Qurator is a community project to benefit not only one, but many users. Most of our profits go towards leasing SP to give better support to all our members.

What if I upvote and delegate?
Yes, delegations and upvote tiers stack.
Example: Delegating 300SP and upvoting the Daily Qurator 7+ times a week will place you in a T5 membership slot.
After reviewing the Tiers you can decide how you would like to jump up in tiers or invest. The team is available on Discord for any assistance or questions or you can comment on this post if you have any questions/concerns.

After you click the link you will have to check the value, click next and then enter your Steemit NAME and Private Active Key to delegate. Please remember to leave at least 50SP in your account!
When and how do we count the upvotes?
We will normally have 10-11 posts each week. We normally count the upvotes from the last Tier Update post to the next Tier Update post (around 12noon UTC Time MONDAY). The upvote counts are for all @qurator posts, not just the Daily Qurator posts. We also suggest setting up Steemvoter/Steemauto to always upvote @qurator and always keep you in Tier 2. =)
Please note: For the upvote related tiers, we check the upvotes on posts once a week and adjust the Tiers accordingly before the next tier update.
All the members can see their Tier Status once a week it will be posted in a separate post every Tuesday. Upvote Tiers are adjusted once a week and delegation Tiers are adjusted within 24 hours.

I sent the application of 4 Steem to join, and I was sent back the fee, saying I was rejected. The message on the transfer back said I could join the discord and ask why I was rejected. The invite to the discord doesn't work. I'd really like to have your input as to why I was rejected, I don't think I meet any of the points your post mentions on why you would reject someone. Is the steem power payment a one-off fee? so can I gradually contribute per tier as a one-off until diamond for example? (I am a long way off too but I have been here for a month and I love it and I try so hard too! and I have been introduced by the wonderful @aussieninja :) so I bought some steem dollars with some ethereum I had, and I have transferred 4 to you today) I only have 30 steem power. I stupidly bought cryptokitties last november, I am hoping I can sell them later this year and then I will invest all that ethereum on to this platform :)

What seems nice about @qurator is that it appears reciprocal, and a lot more than just people paying for upvotes. And it's nice that you don't include some of the spammy places. I like to read real things about life and people (and cats!) not auto-generated garbage that only exists so someone can milk the system of every possible penny!

Yes. Upvoting all posts will get you to Tier 2 + 100 SP = Tier 3.
Make sure the upvotes are minimum 1 cents to count.
No, you will be on higher tier as soon as you meet the requirements :) Remember that votes are counted once a week. Delegations are checked every day.

With the base vote always fluctuating we are trying the bigger tiers with mulitpliers of the Tier 5 upvote.
So if Tier 5 is 5% this week then Gold (T5 x 4) will be 20%.

Great work you do for the community, but the post would have been more helpful if examples had been given. I'm considering delegating 1000+sp but I still am clueless what will my benefits be. 🤔

The 1000+ tier will give you 2 times the T5 upvote weight.
Since our VP and weight fluctuate with the market and members. T5 weight will also fluctuate. Thus, if T5 is 5% this week a 1000+ delegate will get a 10% upvote (2xT5). If Tier is 4.8% then the 1000+ tier will give a 9.6% upvote.

Let's say I delegate 5000sp.
I publish two posts per day. (6 days a week only).
How much sbd should I expect to see from @qurator for each of those posts? If at all..
At the current rates and percentages we will upvote those posts at around 60%.
We only send out upvotes once every 24 hours. So for 7 posts (our bot will upvote an unvoted post after 24 hours) I would estimate around $8x7=$56
Not 100% sure how much that would be in SBD/STEEM, but at current rates it should be way more money value than the $56 shown on payouts.

WOW! I love these new tiers. So of course I have to ask how will the new tiers stack with the weekly upvoting? Will 7 upvotes a week and a Silver Tier delegation get me a Gold Tier or possibly a Platinum Tier?
Good question. That sorta seems unfair or imbalanced to me, but I like where your head is at.
They do stack indeed!
So for every 500SP delegate it will boost you with 1 extra T5 weight.
Example: Upvotes for T2 and 800SP delegated will give you the Copper Tier.
If I understand correctly, upvotes for T2 and delegating 2300SP would qualify for Platinum Tier and upvotes for T2 and delegating 4800SP would qualify for Diamond Tier?
That is 100% correct. Please note that as soon as some of the Elite Tiers kick in the upvote weights will be adjusted accordingly. (So T5 might fall ever so slightly)
So, am I reading you correctly that Upvotes for T2 is the equivalent of delegating 200 SP? Meaning, 7 Upvotes and 1,000 delegated SP, would NOT get you a Silver Tier, as that is only counted as 1,200 SP?
That is correct. Delegating 1300SP and then upvoting 7+ times will get you into silver. =)

How come I only came across this just now? Hmm I must not be paying attention. I really hope to invest in @qurator. I am sending my 4 steem right not. Hopefully, the moderators will see potential in my content. This is a really great initiative for those who are looking for some extra payouts. This is a great update! I'm almost tempted to delegate 5k SP to get to the highest tier, but sadly that would leave me with too little SP to have any real upvote left for my followers. But the upvotes are checked once a week on Monday and the Tier 1 and Tier 2 is updated then. So if you are proved during the week and by next Monday there is 7 posts from previous week upvoted by you, yes you will on T2 :)

Hello @qurator, by a minimum of 10 posts, are you saying we must have made 10 actual blog posts or just any posts which includes comments? Also, I assume you mean 7 upvotes to posts by you and not posts you curate for the tier 2 weighting? Apologies if my questions seem silly. This is all new to me. :)

To use Qustodian bot you need to be a member.
The value changes depending on amount of members on each Tier. You can check the current values in Daily Qurator - we post all the current % and and upvote size there.
The upvote depends on which Tier you are on.

If you become our member you receive one vote a day from Qurator. The value depands on the Tier you are on. Qustodian is an addition pay for upvote bot for members that would like some extra boost. You do not have to use it.
The money on the post do fluctuate with the price of Steem. That is ow it works for everyone here. Right now Steem goes up for example and the votes on everyones posts are bigger.
