According to French publication L'Equipe, defender Samuel Umtiti met with officials from the Citizens to talk about a move to the club.
It has been claimed that the French defender wants time to reflect on his future, and does not want to rush into any decision.
Earlier reports in Spain suggested that the Catalan giants were ready to offer Umititi a new deal to fend off interests from other clubs.
It is believed that Umtiti's current release clause stands at €60 million (R889 million), although a decision on his future is expected to made at the end of the season if he does not leave this month.
