Update: Mixed News and Alpha Sneak Peeks

Hey Everyone,

we've got some updates to share with you all, some good and some not so great.

Let's start with the tough stuff: Our recent SPS DAO governance proposal didn't quite get the green light. Despite a whopping 549 folks and over 68 million SPS tokens backing it, we couldn't swing enough support to make it happen. It's a bummer, especially since we poured so much love into making Splinter Royale fit right into the Splinterlands & SPS ecosystem. From our hero card designs & lore, to the tokenomics and overall game vision - we had big plans.

However, without the financial thumbs-up from the community, we've got to pivot. So, here's the scoop:

  • DEC payments will now reflect real market value, no more pegging.
  • SPS won't be in the initial Game Rewards algorithm. It's all about our own assets for now.
  • We also need to consider the long-term plans & implications for our game.

But wait, there's good news too!

Despite the setbacks, Splinter Royale is evolving every day. Our small but mighty team of one developer and one designer is hustling hard. Improving the Unity Game Client is on our radar, but building games on EVM is hard and requires our full attention. We're gearing up for an alpha phase for pack opening and there might be some exciting rewards claimable later (on the mainnet) for the pioneers.

Check out the video below for an early glimpse into pack opening, all fully on-chain (EVM):

On the design front, our work on the hero cards is really coming together nicely. (Check out the image below - the silhouette cards are currently being worked on)

Also, keep in mind that the pre-sale wraps up in less than 10 days. If you're eager to snag the exclusive promo card and potentially design one of five heroes, the clock is ticking: https://splinterroyale.com/shop

With all of this said: thanks for sticking with us through the ups and downs! We're stoked to keep pushing forward and bringing you a killer Web3 gaming experience.

Bummer that we didn't get the proposal to go through, but we can always try again later.

Get the things rolling, bust out more content and keep improving, and let the players see what the proposal really would mean for the whole Splinterlands ecosystem!
