[Watering the Garden] Could what I love most about STEEM be the Secret to its Future Success?

in #steem8 years ago (edited)

Watering the Money Tree

I love that in the initial stages of STEEM, I have been able to store away the value of my holdings and in turn receive the "special power" to inject shares in steem into various contributors' pockets. At this stage I do spend quite a bit of time reading posts and sometimes I even respond, but overall I just like to upvote decent content.

The reason why is simple to be honest...I love mining for the most valuable form of gold that exists---golden thoughts, passions and actions that bring humanity to higher levels of creation. And at this early stage, putting funds into any new users' wallets is only going to be a good thing as the user base rises.

Social mining is what I do on Steem. I upvote the stuff that looks good to me, but then I go out and intentionally upvote some stuff that isn't amazing but comes from an account that seems new or hasn't made any prior posts. I do this because I believe for those users to want to stay, they need to have at least a little bit more than 3 dollars of initial stake given to them for joining & participating this early on.

The next stage is going to be even better though...when I put 95% of all the money earned right back into more steempower---which will only empower me to pour more tokens into the hands of valuable content creators and other community members.

Steempower is a Beautiful thing and I wholeheartedly believe that in the earliest stages of steem's growth if all users try to share value with one-another regardless of their chances at receiving a high payout, simply to give a few dollars to someone who tried...we will reach the next tiers of growth relatively quickly. :)

Excellent perspective. Thanks for sharing as a reminder to many of us.

I've found there's a wide variety of content here - some great, a lot not so much. I also get sidetracked into thinking of the game more economically sometimes - which I'm sure a lot others experience too - focusing more on the dollar signs rather than the value aspect here...

Your perspective is inspiring, to realign focus back to the founding philosophy for the site - it is about value. And that doesn't mean just what'll get the most votes - but as you say, the gold is in the thoughts, the passions, the actions.

The more we focus on producing THAT kind of gold, the greater a goldmine this site will become.

So your post - whether intended or not - is an excellent call-to-action for all to step up their game in producing that kind of gold, outright stating that's what you're ready to throw down on and support. And in itself, those thoughts and the passion in your post IS a fine example of such gold.

😊👌🏼🙏

Wow, just wow! Came here to thank you for upvoting my pathetically lame newbie post. It is people like you that really GROWS the Steem community! You have inspired me to think about adding a lot more substance and value to my next posts! :)

Oops! Apologies, this was supposed to be a reply to the main post by fuzzyvest. Doh!

I couldn't agree more fuzzy

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. A few dollars would indeed provide some joy to some writers.

"valuable form of gold that exists---golden thoughts, passions and actions that bring humanity to higher levels of creation. "
I feel the same way! I am beginning to see things in your perspective too. It's really a unique structure, and I feel grateful that such a gift of infrastructure has been given to us. @dantheman's leadership, I believe is extremely valuable. I know I've learned a lot so far.
Like you, I try to mine the obscure but quality posts even those that don't have a lot of upvotes. It can be devastating for new people to not have any upvotes.

100% agreed stella.

"I love mining for the most valuable form of gold that exists---golden thoughts, passions and actions that bring humanity to higher levels of creation" - YES! Wonderful post! I think this is what is so unique about steemit and why its potential is huge. Taking a Foucauldian perspective, the state has monopolized thoughts to control power, and it is our job to take back our own autonomy over the creation of knowledge.

steem is bound to change our lives. call it a game changer if you will

watch it grow!
Definitely the most powerful force in the universe #compounding @fuzzyvest

Your attitude is worth attention, especially what you do for the new accounts:) upvote

That's very generous of you fuzzy! Appreciate it if you can give a lil guidance on my blog? It's all about Japan! Nothing but... JAPAN!

wow I wake up to see more seeds to water! :D

good post! I will follow your steps

Please Reblog+vote+follow @wulan
Thank @fuzzyvest

Its a great platform that has been concieved. We arenbenifiting a lot from it and i thinks its more appropriate that we give back to the community. Do something that adds value on it.

I know yall have to be somewhat tight on your upvotes so I wanted to let you know I appreciate all of the upvotes you've given me.. even on stuff that probably will not make you any money :/

steemit community should be proud to have such an active , creative member like you .
keep up the good work

This is so great! It almost brought a tear to my eye! Thank you for being so lovely & looking after us noobs. :)

I agree. Already purchased my first Steempower. :)

Hello, @fuzzyvest First of all, thank you! Second of all, is there a way we could chat in private? :D

Honestly you started "mining" steem in the best moment. I did start only 1 week ago and I wrote stupid posts/blogs about my trip in Dubai, I introduced myself etc etc... and funny enough anyway people said were good posts.... only who got "power" can upvote giving some dollar and at the moment who is earning money is who started months ago or got some friend that after tag will upvote making earn thousands of SD.
I don't think it is correct but these are the rules of the game... @funnyvest

Hy Fuzzyvest. I was just reading another post how you FUZZBOMBED him. I like your concept of building into Steem. I'm a newby with only one blog post so far.

I'm just trying to figure this out but I appreciate people like you that try to foster a new technology. I've been trying to sort through the junk and fluff and I will continue to look for people like you trying to teach and improve this new platform. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

social minning is really interesting, but its really difficult for a person that have small Steem Power like me

It's a relief to see someone with a philanthropic spirit. I'm new to steemit and so far I've got nothing but good things to say about the platform. While developing a good following, the chance to earn for decent posts is simply a bonus. I love to write and I've never been limited by the kind of content I write about.

I like that I'm seeing old friends from places like Hubpages and Bubblews here. It's almost like a built in community from the word GO.

I see this post is about a month old @fuzzyvest - how in the world are you earning anything? Does Steemit allow an opportunity for residual income? Or is the focus on community development? Your insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Mere

This is a month old, why does it have so many recent comments?

Now I know why, because he's still upvoting people, even though he hasn't been writing, and this is the last post.

Edit: The only reason I'm here is because I'm making a green-list of great articles, and his name was one I wrote down to check on later.

Hi @fuzzyvest,

I too believe in Steem! Maybe you could share how to become a miner? I would be very interested in learning more.

This is a very honest and nice post fuzzy. It does indeed motivate to stay steam and writte more quality content. Ok, let´s make a coffe and may the for be with us the gargonaits, I prefer gargonaits as minions :-)

As a new contributor to Steem, it's really great to read that the "whales" (to me that term still sounds a bit like an insult) have such a vested interest in continued growth and great content. It's people like you that make me want to continue contributing content to the platform!

this is awesome :)

I really love your perspective. I'm putting everything back into SP as well. I too love injecting shares of steem back into people's pockets. This whole platform is amazing and I feel so thankful to be here in the early months.

I love what your doing for our community. It can get discouraging when you work hard to put our quality content but don't get any attention because your steem wallet is not that big and you have not gained any popularity yet. So thank you for being that guy who helps the little guys.

It warms the cockles of my heart to read your beliefs, motives and future ambitions for Steemit. I feel I am finally backing the "right horse". I don't mean financially, but in terms of energy, time, content and effort.
I was enticed to Youtube in 2007, Udemy in 2013, various others. All "pretended" to have the greater good and higher purposes in mind, all were out to line their own pockets. Facebook the same.
They all enjoyed mainstream TRUST without earning it. Now they have lost it.
Steemit, because of this trak record, has to earn this Trust from people like myself coming to the platform, even if you rightfully deserve it... simply because of the past... so that is why your post is so uplifting. I am a "doubting Thomas" these days, I need evidence and proof that "we" collectively as a species are not going to just keep repeating the same selfish mistakes on the internet, and begin thinking beyond egotistical motives for the betterment and evolution of our species as a whole. So thanks! Lifted my spirits.

Thanks for the up vote on my recent introduceyourself post. I think your upvote took me from $2 to almost $20! Following you now.
