RE: Steemit Feature Suggestions

in #steemit6 years ago

Oh yes.. but i'm so used to the small window i don't even complain about it.. it is more unconscious.. if i think about my writing process i can list the following points

  • if i need emoticons i'll go to the great @blueorgy post.. question is "Would it be helpful to have the emoticons on hand in a Steemit Editor?"
  • i'm constantly scrolling up and down while writing to see the result of my formatting and spelling and grammar check.. the question is "How would it be to have a splitted view where i have both, current edit and result on the screen?"
  • i learned the basics and also more advanced features of Markdown to enhance my posts but often see other users who struggle with formatting.. the question is "Would it be valuable for Steemit to have better formatted content with providing the basic formatting and also advanced features on hand in the editor, like tables, clickable pictures,..?"
  • i feel sometimes claustrophobia in the small window, it is sometimes painful, also in.. the question is "Would it be much more convenient to have a larger or scalable edit window for viewing far more of the whole post?"

a few ideas.. else i'm using the simple Texteditor in Windows to save my markdown posts for later use because Steemit don't allow to see the sourcecode after a week. Thank you to put light on this, because the old user creates strong habits and forget how it looks for new users and entry threshold, which is very important for growth of the platform.

StackEdit.io lets you save your markdown posts for later use. I have a template saved on google drive that is synced with StackEdit, it comes in real handy. After I have finished doing my thang in StackEdit I simply cut-n-paste my post into the Steemit editor. It is a bit of a pain but at least StackEdit has some nice features like split view.
