First I want to tell you a little story about what happened to me many months ago on Steemit.
Like so many others, I was brand new, figuring things out over time and starting to feel that my content was pretty good. After a couple months of working hard on my posts, I was getting a little rattled by the lackluster response. Just by happenstance, I ended up chatting a little bit with @knozaki2015 who gave me some supportive words, a few suggestions and a five dollar 'tip'. THIS BLEW ME AWAY and was an instant boost.
I received a 5 Steem Dollar tip for what I had already been doing. I was elated for days after this, reinvigorated to continue putting in that time and effort. This is something that has stuck with me during my time here and can't forget. (Thank you again @knozaki2015!)
I found a post later on where I found how this had been a coordinated initiative (I forget the name) to seek out and reward people who were just in my spot....been here for a while, persistent, with lots of effort. Knowing the effect it had on me, imagine that happening to dozens or hundreds other others that were in my same spot.
What I Propose and what I need Help with
I want to give out 100-200 Steem (or SD's) starting tomorrow, over the week (ends following Sunday.)
Each person giving prizes is allocated five 5-Steem tips. We reach more categories with more independent searches than just my own. I plan on 4-8 (often smaller, maybe struggling users) helpers to give these out.
I'm donating 100 Steem(or SD's) to get things started this week. I believe distributing 200 Steem (or SD) is obtainable over the week, IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO MATCH ME.
Any further donations can be used to fund future weeks to continue this project. This is something that when funded (up to 200 Steem/SD a week) we'll get those tips out to reinvigorate struggling but good users, helping to retain them.
100% Steem Dollars from this post will also be used towards funding this same pool.
When unfunded, it can just sit idle and be ok. It's quick and easy to pick up again on a smaller scale like this.
I will keep track of who gets what (through wallet memos) and from who to make sure it is fully transparent. I plan for 100% of donated funds to be given away as 'tips.'
[UPDATE: I've already given two users 25 Steem each to begin giving out the tips to those who have been putting in the work, but haven't reaped the rewards. I'll get the remainder handed out over the next two days.]

It has been a long crazy ride over the last year on here! It's gonna be super exciting to where things go from here. For those of us here early on it should be a HUGE benefit. :)
But yea, it does take a while to just about anyone to get built up on here. Having been in that struggle myself for months, I wanted to be able to give some back to other newbies.

I'm new here as well and I've given the gift of 'Steem' to a few random people that have interacted with my post. It really makes a difference to them it seems, and I think it would have made the difference to me as well if I didn't have the ability to build up my rank ever so slightly.

I'll have the list after the fact of people the tips were given to. But that's something I'll just re-engineer from the wallet memos. I'm giving it all to other people to distribute.

Great Idea @sykochica! I must admit as a new user it is a struggle. I did an experiment on when to post to increase value that I conducted for over a week and spent a lot of time on and the result yielded around 230 upvotes, but none of the curators had much SP so it was very undervalued. I even made the top 20 undervalued posts. The minnows need some encouragement, thats for sure.

Reading this kind of post from Steemians with history and large followings is very encouraging. I haven't been here long but spend a lot of time trying to get a message of truth out. I believe I've done ok in 2 weeks getting a small following of 120ish but would appreciate any save advice that helps me get to the next level of influence. $ are nice but education is paramount.

I'm a struggling user myself. How will you choose who gets the prize?
To start it'll be geared to target users at least 3 to 4 weeks. I won't be passing things out myself (unless it becomes necessary) instead letting 4-8 people each search out five people to give the tip to.
What I will suggest to them is to subjectively look for consistent effort, quality,and/or sometimes mass improvement. Outside of trying to limit multiple tips being given to the same person...this will be a rather unbound choosing system.
However I do/will look at everybody's blog that receives a tip.
I didn't want to make this overly-complicated at the start.
I am here to learn fishing and not to get some fish everyday from others . Nyway it's a great initiative. Spread some knowledge. Cheers!!!!!!1

Great Initiative, helping others is like helping yourself subconsciously, I know you will do great as I have heard once that you have given 5 SBD to a new steemian to boost his morale and he was appreciating your deed. I would love to help in any way possible.

Hehe, yea. I remember that in the last week or so. That's the only one I gave personally. I did give a couple people 25 SD's each to give out in the same way (as the proposal.) I feel things get spread out better by others as well as helps the 'giver' get a little notice.

Well, on that basis, I am a very much smaller user and don't earn much on my post, always stuck below 2$ so, though I giveaway a lot of steem and SBD to others, I don't have much now, So I will hold on to it and have followed you to see great posts like these.

That's really cool of you. I have already been tipped by two others: 10 Steem and one SBD, this month. This has never happpened in my five years over on bitcointalk. My contribution apart from my posts is a site that allos you to pay for downloads with SBD www.steemfiles.com . SBD does not track the USD very well.
I have a user amount of SP. I guess there are many that need money more than I do. Tips are always welcome and appreciated.

This seems like a good initiative. To me it seems like certain types of posts are always voted up while other types are usually ignored. For instance, I love to write fiction but those types of posts are mostly ignored...... however blog posts and human interest pieces usually catch support, not to mention anything about steem or cryptocurrency. I would love to see wider support for more types of content.
