RE: Tau.net's Q&A (July 2023) - Testnet @ Q1 2024?

Imagine using chatGPT, but in the language that it understands you completely, is never wrong, and it's always accurate. Moreover, you can also give it commands to execute. So it's not only an informational robot, it's also a robot that's serving you. That's because Tau is also a software specification language. On top of that, it's connected to everyone, so everyone speaks with Tau this way and it's all combined into one large database and everything can be accounted together.

This sounds so advanced & idealistic that I’m somewhat skeptical - especially considering how insanely complex Tau seems and how difficult it’s been to follow along. Though if after all that complexity of development behind the scenes, the end product actually comes to this and the front-end is something simple and easy to use… hot damn.

Two big problems that humanity is facing is social coordination and stupidity

Truth. Lol.

In regard to Tau actually helping solve these… it’s still tough to envision, knowing not only the back end, but again & importantly, how the front end rolls out so as to what the actual, tangible process of using it looks like for the average person. i.e. integration into existing apps like Twitter/X with polls so super quick & easy and can leverage huge existing networks, or what would the UI look like for its own platform, etc.

Also a bit confused as where the mind wants to go contemplating that seems a different direction than the updates about the focus shifting to ‘formal specification’ - which seems it’d be such a SMALL niche within software development, rather than something simple & easy to use for larger non-techie populations.

Hoping that once the new website & marketing materials are up, this type of thing will be more clear…
