Business Chamber Pioneers Development of Digital Economies for its Business Community

The world is changing dynamically and rapidly as are emerging cities like Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysian Borneo. Traditional businesses are now equipping themselves and joining the bandwagon of the digital age by tuning in to the demands of globalising trends and adopting revolutionary ways of doing business so that they would not be left behind by their competitors.

Same goes to the Kadazandusun Chambers of Commerce and Industry members that have begun their digital technology journey through the Steemit platform. This event was held at the KCCI office and was attended by members of the Young Bumiputera Entrepreneurs group as well as some chamber members.

The workshop is in the form of a sharing session and titled BLOGGING: DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY IN DEMAND evolved as a result of an initiative taken by @madeve to focus on the development of a creative community among Kadazandusun business community.

The objective of this program is aimed at the revitalization of community based social enterprises working towards the pursuit of a community's economic and social goals. The new revolutionary social innovation blogging platform which was designed to show one how to generate income by creating quality creative content is non other than the Steemit platform.

President Datuk Bonipasius Bianis

KCCI president, Datuk Bonipasius Bianis in his speech mentioned that he was indeed glad to have hosted the sharing session among members of the chamber and suggested that more informative sessions like this should be conducted in the future and agreed for KCCI to organize another bigger event with a similar purpose. The blogging system is new and different from other traditional blogging systems and simple enough for anybody to try it, he added in his closing remarks.

I am indeed glad that this sharing session has been able to benefit the members as I continuously strive to promote the establishment of creative economies through digital technology among our community.
