This post is part of a series following my friends and I crossing Sri Lanka in a Tuktuk. You can find the intro post here and the previous one here.

Day 6 marks the only day of the Rickshaw Run during which we didn't board our mighty Tuktuk.

Instead we woke up 4am and hoped on a Jeep for a full day safari in Yala National Park.

We got to the entrance of the park just in time for a beautiful sunrise.

After that the safari itself started and we were amazed by how much wildlife we saw in a single day.

On top of the animals you can see pictured above, we also saw monitor lizards, crocodiles, many more monkeys, pangolins and many different bird species.

Our driver was amazing and was capable of spotting a small bird in a tree while piloting the Jeep on a very tough road.

The highlight of the tour was to try and spot the elusive spotted leopard, of which Yala is the biggest reserve in Asia with 40 to 50 animals.

We were very fortunate to see two of them although very quickly and from afar.

After a whole day of amazement we went back to the hotel, tired but happy. It was time for some relaxation in the swimming pool and a nice dinner to get in shape for the final Tuktuk day!

You have traveled to a very beautiful place which is called a nature sanctuary and the animals and birds are really amazing. I also love such places and last year we visited one such safari park.

Yeah it was truely amazing!

Seems you have visited all the major attractions of Sri Lanka and these photos are good. The monkey photo is a photo of the day in this blog.

Yeah I really like this pic :)

It's amazing in one word man. Looks like you became friends with that Elephant despite of the old one haha. And you are lucky to see that leopard. Tuktuk on the way!

Haha yeah these ones couldn't care less about us actually ^^
Tuktuk for the win!

Thats a Divine sunrise to start an Amazing day! And I swear the monkey pic that you shared at beginning, I never saw such a beautiful one before. Also loved the peacock and bird pics and it is considered to be very Lucky here if you see a peacock with it’s tail feather fully opened. Also, was that baby elephant running behind and following you guys? I am sure all of you spent a great safari day but missed that little tuk-tuk 😅❤️

Yeah these monkeys were so cute !
It was a lucky day indeed, and we had a lot of fun before getting back to our Tuktuk!
Actually the elephant didn't give a tuk about us ^^

Another beautiful journey of adventure

On top of the animals you can see pictured above, we also saw monitor lizards, crocodiles, many more monkeys, pangolins and many different bird species

If I was on the journey with you guys , I would have ran away after seeing those animals.....lol

Come on it's pretty safe from atop the Jeep and definitely worth it :)

Monkeys man, i wanted to see something like that. And landscapes. Cool One

Lovely pictures. It looks like you had an amazing day out in the wild, looking at and spending time with very interesting animals that you can't see every day.

I have an aunt that stays at Sri-lanka and I have visited there once , and I must say it is a beautiful cool place to be , so I won't be surprised if you have a beautiful journey.

Yeah very friendly people, lots of nature and delicious food, what else should we need ?
