"My Favourite TreeHugger in the WORLD!". photography by @eric-boucher IMG_3158.jpg

First of all, thanks a lot to @kus-knee for offering once more a special photographic challenge opportunity, what a treat!

Among my friends and family are found multiple treehuggers and, as far as I can remember, I have seen people hugging trees of all sizes in all kinds of locations... Over the years, it is always at least for the sake of a grounding healthy vibration left in the "treehugger" that such phenomena is continuously observed. The Japanese culture well aware of multiple benefits of forests over humans even have a name for the effects of "bathing in forest" or "taking in the forest atmosphere": shirin-yoku.

The rejuvenating, restorative and calming effects of forests are well known and scientifically very well documented too: Boosting of the immune system, reduced stress and blood pressure, improved moods, better focus even in individuals with ADHD, improved sleep and energy levels as well as propensity to heal from surgeries or illnesses, etc, etc, etc.

This very special "treehugger" here has enraptured my body & soul and seemed to have had the same effect on this giant Sitka Spruce as well! On that day, at the end of our road, we stopped and lunched before heading down to the beaches found near Botanical Beach, near Port Renfrew, Vancouver Island, British Columbia. The giants found along the path are stunning in presence as well as in stature. Maybe next time you hug a tree you can make a test for you and your friends/family that are long: Make mental notes of the feelings that are rising when you hug one specific tree and, after everyone has hugged that tree, share among yourselves what the results of it are...

The results will probably blow your mind. Enjoy the learning, calming and so on!

Nice hug!

Thanks, namaste :)

When we embrace nature it returns the embrace.

There is a larger community of the universe.

Look at those sitting places nestled between the roots of this tree.

We lose our way when we don't interact with the natural world enough!

Nice picture. Did you enter it in the contest?

Not only the words of your comment are filled of timeless wisdom, but the magic of your photography coupled with it would make of this a valuable posting! Thus, I had to upvote it very kindly and want to thank you for it too.

Well said my friend! Thanks for sharing your picture with us too. Namaste :)

You're welcome :)) I am happy to share with you.. @eric-boucher

So far it was strange for me to See people Hug a tree. Here it is not common and oft done.
Seems Interesting, and you made me curious. Wondering what to feel.. I think I have to give it a try .. we have many trees around here.. but still the thought ......

Many years ago, I brought my girlfriend then in the woods on an amazing hike along a river where are found monumental trees. Arriving in the area where the tall ones were standing, we each took turns hugging trees. Every single one of them had a different feeling and our words fully corroborated! One felt old, sad and angry, another one old, kind, peaceful and welcoming. One felt hurt, scared of people and so on. The experience was amazing and worth sharing with many. It is definitely worth the experience, even if it were only for the raw health benefits.

Namaste :)

Namaste @eric-boucher:)
That is a truly beautiful image, the scenery sets a mood of total peace, calmness and positivity. It is amazing how nature has the ability make one feel at total ease and oneness.

Your poised comment seems to be going in the flow of it all too! ;) Thanks a lot for the kind and warm words.

Namaste :)

Though I've read about the benefits and scientific proof, the only time I hugged a tree was when I was too boozed up to hug anything else or anyone for that matter. Can't say I remember how I felt back then and as much as I would like to give my spirit a good cleanse by hugging a tree, I really don't know if and when I will do it. Time will tell, maybe I will end up hugging all the trees I see! If this happens, I promise I will take a picture :)

I am also here for my Tuesday Namaste :) ^^

So glad to come across your words and presence among us, it is always appreciated. Thank you for being here.

I had not been here for about a week either, too sick to do anything at all... So, I was glad to find inspiration rising up inside of my soul when I saw this photo challenge opportunity. Maybe I simply need to go spend more time in the woods, as I used to...

Namaste :) (((HUG)))

once , a pretty old man who lived all his life in the mountains, told me... ''Go hug a tree...! Go hug all the Forrest... I knew what he was talking about but surprised about him knowing too about... tree hugging. Nice to connect with you again, my friend!

Good to read from you again! What a beautiful little piece of sharing, thanks.

Namaste :)

Excellent article. I am very glad that I met her. She explained to me why I love trees so much. You, for a long time, do not publish new articles on the technique of "sleep management." I already began to miss them.

Отличная статья. Я очень рад, что встретил ее. Она, объяснила мне, почему я так люблю деревья. Вы, как то долго, не публикуете новых статей о технике «управления сном». Я уже начал скучать за ними.

Thanks a lot, I'm glad you enjoyed this article. I haven't had time to work on the Dream Yogas for quite a while, but it is one of the very next one coming up very soon. Stay tuned! Namaste :)

I love trees not only because of the human life support they provide but the beauty they possess. Nice post. Thanks for sharing.

I am with you on this one too! Thanks for sharing, namaste :)

Interesting enough, though always a lover of nature, I have never hugged a tree. Once the weather improves I am going to try iy. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Awesome! Good for you, good for us all!!!

Give yourself the time and space to do so at ease and try out a few different trees. The odds are that you'll encounter very different vibrations from one to an other... You increase these odds if the trees are from very different forests states.

I look forward to reading the results of your experiment.

Namaste :)

It's our natural balance to live in the woodland and many of us have to be aware of the forest and what forests we love us.

Thanks @kaysar07! Namaste :)
